I have been diagnosed with migraines and tension headaches by two different dr. I can now feel air in my head. I had a mri  with contrast and nothing showing. also have this dripping feeling in my head, like water. any ideas what this is.

Hi

Would you be able to elaborate more on what you mean by "dripping feeling"? Are you taking any medications for the headaches? What are these?

I suggest that you also have a complete assessment by your ENT specialist to rule out sinus congestion and involvement of the ears and nasal passages. Observe any progression of your symptoms. Was the "dripping feeling " present  prior to the MRA with contrast?

Do keep us posted.

Yes the dripping feeling happened before the mri. but now it seems to be happening more. the dripping feeling feels like water running down my head but my head is dry. I am  an american student here in the uk so my dr is back in the states. I had a physical exam before i left  and he said everything looked fine. the dripping feeling and air/ cold feeling are more frequent now.

Hi,

Honestly, this is something i have not heard before .I do not mean to discourage or alarm you when I say that. The dripping feeling may be due a nerve involvement or a sensory perception impairment. There are some patients who would complain of a "wetness" on the head associated with headaches .Others would complain of extreme pain at the tip of their fingers when they touch something.I can not tell if  these may be explained by similar neurophysiological processes but they do have a common element which is heightened sensation.

Do consult your neurologist.  This may be discomforting but this may not necessarily be  an urgent cause of alarm.Describe your symptoms as vividly and elaborately as possible. I can not say if this may be a migraine  aura but  you  may want to discuss this possibility  with them.

Do keep us posted.
