cause of headache

by kressking, Feb 05, 2009 08:51PM
I have a headache over the right eye.  It occurs nightly between 12:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m.  It's in the sinus cavity area, but CAT scan two years ago showed slight sinusitis which was treated with antibiotics and corticosteroids.  Pain will increase in intensity if not treated with pain medication and/or nose spray.  Could there be another cause?

Hi,

Since you have a positive history of sinusitis the first possibility that comes to mind is chronic sinusitis. It has been 2 years since you last had a CT scan done so there is a chance that the sinusitis has worsened since then.
There can be other causes of one sided eye pain which also need to be looked into like Migraine, glaucoma, wrong eyeglass prescription, trigeminal neuralgia, infections and inflammatory conditions of eye.
This warrants a clinical evaluation by your GP.
