headahe in neck and bak of head

I am 81 years old.  I have been Told by my doctor that I have a tumor in my salvitory gland but it is not canseris.  He stated he could remove the tumor if i wanted it out. Said it was slow growing type and I can leave it in.  It hurts when I eat something sourer or tart, but only for the first bite.
I have come down with a urinary infection that started with a headache and chills. My regular doctor gave me 10 days of pinisillian type medication to clear it up and it is working, but I' have started to get these severe  headaches at the back of my head and in my neck. I have noticed a sourness in the gawlbone in front of my ears on both sides and some behined the ears as well.
It seems likely to me that these headaches are coming from infections in my salvitory glands.  Please help with your thoughts on this problem.

I would go back to your doc and tell them about the headaches and soreness. It might be a sign that something's changed with the tumor that they need to know about.

I don't know how good of a surgery risk you are, but if it is the tumor giving you the headaches, etc. it's probably going to be up to you to decide if you want to live with the headaches and the tumor, or get the tumor removed and see if that will help with the headaches. It's your call, but I would definitely at least tell your doc.

Good luck and keep us posted,'
