Headaches - Numbness MS related?

My name is Angie,
I have optic neuritis in Left eye, borderline b-vit deficiency and  spinal tap procedure where the test results had high white blood cell counts, and 14 Oligoclonal Bands where found. I have been on this path for more than a year, I have head aches every day that are excruciating and have taken Solumedral through an IV recently for the second time to try to get this under control so I can get on Topamax which is working for now for the head aches. I have numbness/tingling when I move my head in a downward motion from my abdomen all the way to my toes, and numbness in my fingers and palms from morning until it feel like going away every day. I have been getting MRI's about every 3 months looking for lesions but have found none. Could this be MS or something else? My currant Neurologist would like me to start on some MS meds but I would like to see that this is in fact MS before I start sticking myself with needles every other day for the rest of my life. I am only 21 years of age and this is life changing. Please let me know if I should be asking for other tests that are available that I don’t know about. I will be seeing someone later on this month for a second opinion. Please give your opinion.

I have had multiple MRI of the spine all clean, I am seeing a MS specialist as of right now he told me he wants to make sure the diagnosis of the Optic Neuritis is in fact true: yesterday I went for O-C-T testing will get results in soon. Pending results will receive another spinal tap to test pressure? Yay! Does this seam necessary? I had the Optic Dr. print me the results but I am not a Dr.  the results shown were all in pie charts and were color coded red and yellow meaning bad and green and white colors were good my left eye only a fourth was green the rest was red/yellow. I am guessing by this that that means (yes) I did in fact have Optic Neuritis in my Left eye. I apologize if I do not use the correct terminology.
You can understand how a patient can get overwhelmed when they pay all these co-pays and then having to go back and forth with there insurance company because the insurance company did not want to cover a test that took a total of 10 min to complete but could mean being diagnosed?

I am sorry i tend to ramble on i get a little depressed i have been dealing with this for over a year and still nothing i know they are trying. sometimes i just feel like i am a bourdon and i should just go somewhere and maybe i should just not worry about my hands being numb it is not like it is killing me.  I just get so tired of dealing with all of this somtimes.

I had tingling and numbness going on over the summer.  Went to a neurologist and had an MRI done...nothing...he said there was nothing more he could do.  I also have had constant pressure on the bridge of my noise and headaches.  I went to a chiropractor and he stopped the tingling and numbness...should have done that first.  Best of luck.

Hello.

I would like to throw some light upon this. I can understand your position. It is not clear that you may be having MS. The symptoms you have described are found in MS, but they are also found in some other conditions. And secondly, the MRI of the brain is normal to date.

I would suggest you get an MRI of the spine, too. Also see if you can get the NMO-IgG test done.

All the best.

I usually type on here at work so as you may know by this comment i can not do this at work. I will look completely stupid i will try this at home but if this is some kind of strange prank i will never come to this site ever again... Are you some sort of Dr? I have already been seen by a nose specialist. If this is your thinking. But i am willing to try anything.

then -Deep Breath-in through right nostril keeping left nostril closed

and repeat this cycle for upto 30  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 min/day).

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.

I have had multiple spinal MRI's constantly searching. Brain MRI's I have done many things. They have found nothing. I am on Topamax and i still get headaches but they are not everyday anymore. I just wish a Dr. actually cared enough to find out what is wrong. I feel as if they just push you out of their offices every time you see them. How long have you been sick?

Hi.  I am having some of the same problems.  Constant headache and numbness and tingling of limbs.  I also asked about MS but it is unlikely.  Ask your doctor for a spinal MRI.  If it is MS chances are either the spinal MRI or brain MRI would show lesions or "white patches" where the myelin is being compromised.  I hope you find an answer soon and I will continue to look for mine.
