Can someone explain the medical things on my MRI. Any diagnosis or what type of migraines I have? What does the lesions mean?
Narrative
MRI of the brain with and without intravenous gadolinium from 4/3/15
Comparison made to the MRI from 4/19/14
Clinical information: 37 year old female with chronic headache now with right side numbness and paresthesia
Procedure: Images of the brain were acquired with and without intravenous contrast with 12 cc of Dotarem according to brain MR protocol.
Findings:
There is no evidence for acute ischemia. No susceptibility alteration to suggest intraparenchymal hemorrhage is present. The overall brain volume and the size and configuration of the ventricular system is appropriate. Basal cistern are widely patent. Small probable left intraparotid lymph node incompletely assessed on this exam. There are some tiny foci of T2 and FLAIR hyperintensity in the subcortical white matter particularly in the frontal lobes. These are quite minimal could represent the sequelae of migraine. These are approximately 3 right frontal subcortical white matter lesions. No evidence for intracranial mass, mass effect or shift of midline structure is present. Basal cistern are widely patent. No pathologic enhancement within the brain parenchyma is present. Craniovertebral junction is normal in appearance.
Impression:
1. Some very tiny punctate foci of T2/FLAIR hyperintensity are seen in the right frontal lobe which are not clearly present on prior exam. These could represent sequelae of migraine. Postinflammortory, postinfectious or even demyelinating disease not excluded but considered less likely.
