Please help, I'm worried

Hello,
I'm seventeen years old and I have mirgraines. Today, I had PE right in the morning (around 9 am). I ran, and jumped up and down, as told, and all of a sudden I got a severe headache and nauseous. The headache ended up going away but I just kept getting sicker, so I asked my teacher if I could sit down. I felt like throwing up and, in the end, colours started fading away and everything went white. I couldnt see a thing. Not even shapes. Everything was just plain white. This happened for 5 minutes or so and the colours slowly started reappearing.

Any idea what might have happened?  Thank you in advance

Actually, if you have not been to a doctor with this before I think you should. At least if it starts to happen often or if you start to feel worse in other ways. But if you know that you have been suffering from migraines before then this is of coarse a plausible explanation. Still, it probably won't hurt you to see the doc.

There is for example something called chiari malformation and a whole lot of other things that could give similar symptoms. The doctor should be able to rule out those things.

But still, migraine is the most likely explanation. Especially if this was just a one time thing.

Hi and welcome to the Migraines & Headaches Community.

I agree with Ball. It sounds like a migraine. You can get all kinds of visual disturbances with them. I have been reading before and all the letters to the colors of the rainbow. I've had the white out affect before...blury, etc. There is just so many ways it can affect your vision.

This could be connected with your migraines. "The migraine" doesn't really like running and jumping. Of coarse staying fit is important for your body but it can definitely trigger a migraine, especially if you have a day where you are more sensitive than usual.

It is usually recommended that migraineurs warm up thoroughly and also cool down slowly. No quick changes.

Thanks. I'd thought about it but that day I actually had a hearty breakfast, which kinda puzzles me.

Did you eat a hearty breakfast that day?  If not, and your blood sugar were very low you might well have felt faint after notable exertion, and vision blanking out when you're on the verge of fainting is not exceptional.  I think it's good to start the day off with a hearty breakfast, perhaps based on oatmeal porridge.
