Hello,
Oh my goodness do I ever have hormone headaches. I even notice vauge head discomfort with ovulation some months. Imitrex tablets and the Imitrex injectable pen have completely helped me. I hardly ever need the pen and can usually get away with only half of an Imitrex tab.
Hormone headaches are definitely for real, get yourself some pain relief and enjoy feeling better.
Take care.
Hi,
How are you? Management with menstrual migraines is similar to those used for other types of migraine. Both acute and preventive treatment may help provide relief. Medications that are commonly used for the acute treatment include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), dihydroergotamine (DHE), the triptans, and the combination of aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine (AAC). If severe attacks cannot be controlled with these medications- analgesics, corticosteroids, or dihydroergotamine may be prescribed. For preventive treatment, short-term prophylaxis taken perimenstrually can be effective. Hormonal therapy may also be indicated. Complementary and alternative medicine like acupuncture has also been effective in some patients. It is best that you check with your attending physician for proper management.
