Could this be all from my Mirena IUD????

I feel like I'm losing my mind and have read so many posts of women that have had all sorts of issues with this IUD. I got the IUD inserted second week of October because of heavy periords I'm 42 years old. During that time I was also misdiagonosed with pneumonia twice so my body basically healed itself. My lung xrays came back normal, blood oxygen was 98%, blood work came back good, and my heart checked out fine when the hospital treated me all they found was bacteria in my urine.I was also having some issues with a little acid refulx so the doctor gave me meds for that and checked my blood work for uclers but that also came back normal. I'm so run down and on top of that I have fibromyalgia. I am also anemic becasue of the heavy periords throughout the years which my GP did not really address except to keep putting me on iron pills and checking my blood every three months. On October 23rd to be exact I suddendly stopped sleeping through the night no matter what I did I could lay there for hours and not sleep because I was having this weird sensation in my lungs and pains in my chest that keep me awake. So after a week of that I went to my doctor who gave me sleeping pills, great what I needed more pills. By the next week I the weird shortness of breath was still there, almost like I just couldn't get enough air in my lungs, then this weird burning sensation in my chest and pains that would progress to tightness and pressure even in my throat and sinus area. So by this time I really lost it.I felt like I couldn't get food down, I lost a little weight for fear of choking on my food. Then I started have anxiety and panic attacks and crying all the time not sure even why. So again went to my doctors he gave me drugs for anxiety and depression. I even went to see a gastro specialist who checked me over and listened to my symptoms and thought they could be more anxiety related but still having a test done in March. My doctor is asking me to hang in there, and keep this IUD in for another month. I am at my wits end on so many meds just to function somewhat. Missing work, missing functions because I feel horrible and my husband and family and friends feel for me but don't know what to do....I just need some answers could this all be from an IUD????

If anyone has any comments suggestions that would great!!

Thanks Kim

My first post and I think you girls have helped me more in 3 years than any DR!

Reading this and other posts is like reading my own life.  I am on my second Mirena, 3 years in.  I had no issues with the 1st one but for the last 3 years I have struggled with these symptoms:
bloating, fatigue, sore hips when sleeping, headaches - constant, lack of appetite but gained 15kg in 16 months, no sex drive, aches and pains all over, dizziness, off balance feeling, chest/neck and back pain, MAJOR mood swings, lack of concentration, foggy brain feeling, no energy and did I mention ALL DAY headaches.  feeling of not breathing properly, anxious and depressed.

My Dr said it was anxiety, but now after years of not being able to beat this he say maybe its the Mirena.  I am getting it out tomorrow.
Can you please let me know if all you horrible symptoms went away once you removed it and how long did it take to feel better.

When I read your story I can tell...it sounded just my experience. I had my Mirena inserted Oct.'7/14 and till the end of the last year, i had pain in my breast and abdomen. Additionally, spotting that were either bloody, watery, or rusty. In December, I had like 3 weeks menstruation and was passing purpuly red blood cloths. Horrible! Then, the begining of this year, I developed problems with sleeping and I have constant headaches. After the insertion of Mirena, I had various tests done because I had GI problems and felt like having UTI. The begining of this year, I forgot to mention I developed breathing problems like sometimes, "gasping for air; not being able to have a full breath"; often have chest pain and heart palpations. I had stress test and it came normal. I believe that all these problems are b/c of the Mirena. I am irritable and anxious and feel depressed. I did have heavy periods in the past and had a surgery d/t endriometrosis and this is way the doctor inserted Mirena. I am upaet b/c he did not worn my about any side effects and additinally, I was asked to pay more, not what I was told before the insertion. I think that Mirena is the business and us the patients are the potential customers. Everything is a business. I hope you will feel better soon! I am planning to have it removed; Mirena is like a bomb in my body.
