My first post and I think you girls have helped me more in 3 years than any DR!
Reading this and other posts is like reading my own life. I am on my second Mirena, 3 years in. I had no issues with the 1st one but for the last 3 years I have struggled with these symptoms:
bloating, fatigue, sore hips when sleeping, headaches - constant, lack of appetite but gained 15kg in 16 months, no sex drive, aches and pains all over, dizziness, off balance feeling, chest/neck and back pain, MAJOR mood swings, lack of concentration, foggy brain feeling, no energy and did I mention ALL DAY headaches. feeling of not breathing properly, anxious and depressed.
My Dr said it was anxiety, but now after years of not being able to beat this he say maybe its the Mirena. I am getting it out tomorrow.
Can you please let me know if all you horrible symptoms went away once you removed it and how long did it take to feel better.
When I read your story I can tell...it sounded just my experience. I had my Mirena inserted Oct.'7/14 and till the end of the last year, i had pain in my breast and abdomen. Additionally, spotting that were either bloody, watery, or rusty. In December, I had like 3 weeks menstruation and was passing purpuly red blood cloths. Horrible! Then, the begining of this year, I developed problems with sleeping and I have constant headaches. After the insertion of Mirena, I had various tests done because I had GI problems and felt like having UTI. The begining of this year, I forgot to mention I developed breathing problems like sometimes, "gasping for air; not being able to have a full breath"; often have chest pain and heart palpations. I had stress test and it came normal. I believe that all these problems are b/c of the Mirena. I am irritable and anxious and feel depressed. I did have heavy periods in the past and had a surgery d/t endriometrosis and this is way the doctor inserted Mirena. I am upaet b/c he did not worn my about any side effects and additinally, I was asked to pay more, not what I was told before the insertion. I think that Mirena is the business and us the patients are the potential customers. Everything is a business. I hope you will feel better soon! I am planning to have it removed; Mirena is like a bomb in my body.
