Abortion can harm future fetus?

Hello.
I have a question.
My cousin gave birth to a child with disabilities like deaf at the left ear, he have miopia and have some walk problems.
A year (and couple of month) before birth she made an abortion that went terrible wrong. I do not know the exact  problems, but she had an hemoragia, was taken to hospital to Emergency Room. She could die from that.
I want to ask if there could be a link between the fact that his boy was born with disabilities and the fact that she made an abortion that went not quit right. Could a past abortion harm a fetus.
Thank you.

I do not think so, unless there was a problem from scar tissue from the abortion.  But I have never heard that scar tissue in the uterus causes the kind of disabilities that you described.  Usually the problem with scar tissue is that it prevents the embryo from taking hold in the first place, so the pregnancy fails.  Was her baby born prematurely?
