Hey E.
Ya if I could do it over again I would have saved myself alot of headaches and waited before running in the doors of my obgyn's office. I agree. You have alot of will power. Yes def go with the first date of your last period don'f forget you can always ovulate earlier. That is what I'm finding out tues. I have a new dr whom I have seen now for a month and he si figuring out what is going on with my dates. My baby at 12 wks was measuring 18 wks and 6 days which would make sense I had my last m/c on 9/14/08 so I think I conceived him in the 2 wks after the m/c. I thought for a little bit he was a twin but I forgot I followed my hcg to Zero so that is impossible. I was going to mention have an u/s and that would give you a better idea of your due date and then I realized, it's not an exact science. Ha...My mom is doing great and her hair is coming in so fast. She is still a spit fire that one. How are you feeling? Listen don't live in a bubble when it comes to food etc. The only things I have been told is don't eat cheese that is unpasturized or deli meats that haven't been heated up for 20 seconds in the microwave or too much fish due to the mercury. Enjoy your pg. Let me know whan you go to your dr's app....
Hugs,
AP
AP-thats what i'm going w/ which puts me 5wks & 4days today!!!! I still want to wait on calling the dr though. i'm just not ready for it. i can't believe that i'm actually holding out on this. i'm typically the one who wants to get right in & confirm & make sure everything is going well (or know if somethings going wrong) but i'm just keeping myself busy, way too busy, so i don't think about it 24/7. i'm exhausted, sore bbs off & on, & they are growing at a very fast pace! *lol* so i think all is well. I was laughing the other day when i saw you size d bbs comment. after my 1st daughter it was so funny! I'm about 5'3-5'4 & never weighed over 105 before I had her. (those were the days) but I nursed w/her so my baby weight dropped rather fast & when I went back to work I had a small framed body w/ these massive hard as a rock DD's & the guys were asking if I had a baby or work done! It was too funny. At the rate these puupies are going I'm going to do good to stand up straight in a few months. *lol*
How are you feeling? Your mom? Baby boy hanging in there?
I always go by the first date of my last period. Your lmp could be off. The only accurate way is a u/s. For now though go by the first date of your last period!

Congrats!
I would go by the O date. I always ovulate late in my cycle and when I had my son I was initially two weeks behind my original due date they told me after they did my first u/s. And with this most recent preg. I told the midwife that my cycles tended to be 35 days so she pushed the due date back a week to begin with....I know how disappointing it is to be not as far along as you think you could be...so I would always go with the lesser...then when you go you can be pleasantly surprised if you measure further along! :) So happy for you.....oh BTW Babycenter.com has a calculator that has an option to change the length of your average cycle and it readjusts the due date and fertile dates accordingly....
I think I would go by the O date myself. I'm in the same boat b/c I've been having 31 day cycles and I think they just use the standard 28 days. Is there an online calculator for using your O date instead of last cycle?
Emptyinside- i had to go right away because i have had 2 mc last year and they found out i have a blood clotting disorder and as soon as i got a BFP my dr wanted to get me on meds right away! so for a few months i had to really be on top of things so i could call, im glad i found out as early as i did! i go back friday to get hcg levels checked again, and nurse said when they get high enough i will have an ultrasound. i am thinking it will be next week sometime..but not sure. i am jus thoping all is still going well, and my levels are going up!
My dr. always went by LMP. If you feel comfortable waiting the extra week than I see no harm in that. I wish you the best whatever your decision. I'm happy to see how positive you are, good for you!
I think the standard is to always go by LMP as dr's get the "typical" cycle mantra ingrained in them (aka O'ing CD14).
If you trust your OPK and feel with a good deal of certainty that you knowed when you O'd, I'd go with that. Did you have any other O signs?
my dr always goes by LMP (as do most of the on-line predictors) but I know I o'd late so i don't think i'm as far along as they say. I THINK i'm going to stick w/the 4wk mark until the dr see's the ultrasound & tells me different. That gives me another week to put the dr off.
nickswife - did you go to dr right away? if so, how many times have you had to go & have they done ultrasound & could you see anything? I know 20 ?'s right? I just want to make sure I wait long enough to see something.
i always went by LMP- until you have an ultrasound and things are a little more definate..
hhmm....this one is tricky. The Dr's always go by lmp when i have gone. They have never asked me when i O'd. I would probably go by the O date if it were me though.
