I also was diagnosed with this at 7 weeks and decided to wait and let my body take care of things. I have just this week miscarried at 10 weeks so it took a good 3 weeks.
I had a second scan at 8 weeks just to check things and the sac was getting "ragged".
I don't think that the brown discharge neccessarily was part of this as many women have discharge and go on to have healthy babies, however, with my successful pregnancy I never once got any brown or any other bloody discharge whereas with the two that ended in miscarriage I have had tiny amounts of brown fairly early on. So for me I do think it's a bad sign but for many it is not.
Take care of yourself while waiting to find out one way or the other. I was keen to avoid the medical profession, if possible, but some women prefer to get things over and done with as quickly as possible.
So you say you are 7 weeks, right? Have you had blood tests? What are your HCg levels? Going up or down?
My suggestion would be to find out what your HCg numbers are doing first - make sure that they are very low and/or going DOWN. Otherwise, WAIT - get another u/s in a few weeks, wait until you have symptoms (bad cramping & heavy bleeding).
Babies have been known to hide, even up until 12 weeks!!

AND women have been known to get AF during their entire healthy pregnancies!
PLEASE get all the evidence before just assuming a BO or MC. I have read too many stories & have been part of too many discussion threads where a woman is advised to get a D&C or take a pill ("immediately") based on too little evidence ONLY to go with her gut & wait a couple of weeks...
and BAM! HELLO THERE!! Well would ya look at that! A perfectly healthy little embryo or fetus!
It is HORRIFYING to think about what is really happening out there!!
