HEy guys,

Thanks kel
Have you had any blood work to test your hcg levels? My levels stayed elevated for 2 months following my mc. I did not have a d&c. Very bad doc. She wouldn't do bloodwork till I insisted. I knew something was wrong. Then all she wanted to do was put me on bc pills to "level out my hormones". I went to another doc for a 2nd opinion. New doc said bad idea. She did a ultrasound and it showed retained product - 8 weeks later. I really should have had a d&c. At that point, new doc wanted to give it one more cycle and continue to monitor my hcg levels. By end of December they were finally to 0, and she did a saline ultrasound in January and it was FINALLY all clear.
But my cycles have never been the same.
my AF is starting to really mess now. i thought it was goign to be fine until i got it again today! :-\ and i was recommended to take the BC too and it too made me really sick. i wonder if there is any correlation?
Can it take as long as a year? I've been wondering the same thing. My mc was last October and my cycles have never been the same. It tool me till December '09 before I got my first AF. Ever since then they are irregular, a lot heavier, more painful, and (hope not tmi) but I have a lot more clots. Big dark ones and sometimes stringy. And we haven't been able to get pg again. Could something be wrong?
Yes, they do!! Mine is really messed up. My miscarriage was July 8. My first AF after the miscarriage was August 16. It was VERY painful and lasted 6 days. I started taking BC (doctor recommended) on August 22. It was making me really sick, so I only took the first week of active pills, then stopped. My AF started again on August 31 and lasted 5 days (I think it was because of the pills tho).
yes, it take time to get back to normal cycle.
YES!!!!! after a miscarriage, it can take up to 4-8 weeks for AF to even show and even then, it may appear to be heavier, longer, more painful, etc. it depends on how well you went thru the miscarriage process. if it was natural (like mine), then you might experience some of these symptoms, from what i have read for those who had to have a D&C, their AFs became a bit more irregular for awhile until everything was healed up properly.
from my personal experience, AF came only 3 days late. i had a natural m/c at 6wks5d on July 27, and i got AF on Aug 27. it was rather painful, but it lasted for a mere 2 days (which is awesome lol). by day 3, i was just spotting and i was fine after that. i hope this helps a little.
