D/C or wait?????? help

help..... my Dr sure isn't.....
I am measuring 7.10, have a perfect sac with no fetal pole or heartbeat.  Last week, I went to the Dr. for some spotting and was measuring about 5 and a half weeks (6.4) with hcg levels of 2400.  Progesterone was low (10), so Dr put me on progesterone suppositories, and asked I come back for a u/s in a week.

Today, sac was bigger (6.4-7.10) in a week, but nothing in it.  Dr advised I go ahead and take pills to start the miscarriage or schedule a D/C.

First, she didn't even take blood today to measure my levels.  The u/s tech was MAYBE 20 and clueless....I still have symptoms.  just wondering if I should get a second opinion or if there is no shot and should schedule the D/C.  I've read some people have waited and the fetal pole and heartbeat actually showed up later......

Has this happened to anyone??? What to do?????????

i would definitely wait. even if you are going to miscarry i would let it happen naturally. i would not do a d&c unless absolutely necessary.

thanks for your input.  What really frightens me is the Dr only checked my levels once (last week) and they were very good.  After my visit today, she just said, "I hoped to see more..." and asked if I had my levels checked last week and said she would just use those as a reference, as they were high enough she would have hoped to have seen more and schedule a D/C or prescribe meds to induce the m/c.
She doesn't even want to do a f/u u/s or blood work b/f the D/C.

I think I will wait, get a second opinion next week and go from there.

Thanks for you help.... I'm so confused:(  Best of luck to all of you!

I am going through the same thing right now, but my doctor wants to wait and keeps getting my levels checked.  I would wait or get a second opinion.  I have heard many stories of people waiting inspite of what their doctor said and a baby ended up popping up.  I say you go with your intuition.  If you feel you should wait then you wait.  This is a life and if there is the slightest chance that the little guy may pop up then give him time.  What could waiting hurt? You want to make sure you do what you feel, because you don't want to be thinking later did I wait long enough or did i do a d/c too soon.

If you're not sure, wait. You don't want to regret it later. It could be possible for everything to be ok, I just don't know. But I would think it would be better to know for sure. Good luck to you.
