Faint line and pregnancy symptoms disappear still no period

Hi ladies,

I am happy to have found this forum. My mind is going haywire over what could be or "what is"
I would appreciate honest answers and not just "supportive" ones, as I am not sensitive to the possibility of "miscarriage" I just want honest answers or similar experiences.

I am 27 years old, never been pregnant, have never gotten pregnant/miscarriages (as far as I know) and I am not on BC but was years ago. Last month before my period began, I suffered a ruptured ovarian cyst. At the ER, pelvic ultrasound was done and my period started that  same day and was normal. This month, on the 17th i was due, i did not come on. I got a pregnancy test (first response) on the 19th and got a faint line. I waited to take the second test the next morning (20th) and got the same faint line. Leading up to the 17th of this month..I was having i suppose "pregnancy" symptoms which seem to have been just an intensified version of my normal menstrual cycle symptoms(exception for increased urination.). Very big swollen breasts, EXTREMELY fatigued (i mean like hybernation), extremely increased appetite, increased urination, and a few mood swings. On the 21th, my symptoms began to slowly disappear. Breasts are back to normal size which is a small B cup and not even sore. Appetite is normal now, i notice this huge change because Im not a big appetite person so I was actually enjoying my increased appetite :) and it was highly noticeable. I have energy now, and I don't have that "feeling" anymore..I mean, I felt pregnant..its hard to explain. Basically all my symptoms left completely by evening of the 22nd of this month. NOW I am experiencing abdomenal pain/cramping here and there. No spotting or bleeding, no discharge, just crampy here and there. The cramps intensified last night and lasted longer than usual.

The cramping usually lasts 5-10 seconds and come like every 3 hours. Last night, they stayed for about 10 mins and then left completely before i went to sleep. However, sleeping was a bit difficult as laying on my sides caused a sore and uncomfortable sleep. Today I haven't really experienced any cramping just feel like a "lightly sore" abdomen. Other than that, no period, no bleeding, nothing. Its like everything just vanished. I haven't had any blood work and I understand that will be the answer many people give. But i need peace of mind at least so I can get a little sleep, lol. Anyone had similar experiences and what happened?

Oh and I really cant be no more than 4 weeks pregnant. The last time I was intimate with my partner was July 26, and before that I was on my period.

It sounds a lot like what I had with my chemical pregnancy. The hpt line was really dark, but 4 days later all the symptoms completely disappeared and I knew I was not pregnant...
I am guessing you will start bleeding shortly. Hopefully it will all come out naturally.
Good luck on your next appointment!

Hi,

So I went to the ER because I couldn't stand the suspense anymore. And sadly it is what I suspected and what I have read from other's experiences online. My BHCG was 14,000 and my ultrasound showed a 5 week gestational sac with no fetal pole or cardiac activity. The Dr. was wonderful, and I was also hooked up the entire time because apparently there are some issues going on with my heart :( I came back with abnormal EKG also and plus another Ovarian cyst ruptured on my left ovary AGAIN! The Dr. said it is a bit unusual to have such a high BHCG yet no fetal pole and be 5 week. The diagnosis was "Threatened Miscarriage" There are some possibilities the Dr. said..either it is "still too early to tell" or I had already miscarried. I am due for 2 day follow up to measure hormones again, if they continue to go up, we continue to wait. If they go down, well...we go from there.

I have to say,I like when people give it to me straight. I do not like to be pacified. I have seen my friends pacified by their friends, co workers and family members because people of course want to be hopeful which is great. But if I am at risk for miscarriage I do NOT want people telling me "Oh you're fine :) congrats!!!!" I mean i understand wishful thinking but I am mostly logical person. My symptoms are 100% GONE -- I understand a little crampy here and there but I am having INTENSE curling pains. The good thing, the doc said no ectopic pregnancy, which was one of my worries because there was more pain/pressue on the left area of my abdomen....that was due to the Ovarian cyst that ruptured AGAIN on that left ovary.

Just because the pregnancy symptoms disappear does not necessarily mean that you are going to miscarry.  You might just be one of the lucky ones who does not have to deal with all of the bad things about early pregnancy.  I had cramping on and off with my first pregnancy, the dr. told me is because your body is changing rapidly and things are growing/stretching even in early pregnancy.  Your hormone levels also affect the way you feel.  I would not worry to much about it but if you are concerned get blood tests to make sure that your hcg levels are rising the way they are suppose to.  Good luck I hope that it is a healthy pregnancy.

Oh yes and my menstrual cycles are VERY normal and regular. So I do not believe I would just all of a sudden get my menstrual cycle, and it allude the blood work and pelvic ultrasound and I still be pregnant, lol

Hi and thanks for responding...I don't think I could be further along because when I went to the ER on July 17th, they did a pelvic ultrasound completely (i still have the ultrasound on DVD) and also pregnancy test. This is how they found out about the ruptured ovarian cyst. After that, the next time I had intercourse was July 26th, the day before my boyfriend went on a business trip. I mean how long does Implanation cramping take? I had been cramping like 4 days before my cycle was to begin, and plus almost the entire time after the 17th until now, lol. I do believe that I am pregnant, I am not doubting that. But I do believe I will miscarry. I mean my appetite isn't even the same anymore. No Nausea, no headaches..i mean i understand SOME of the symptoms leaving and everything being fine. But EVERYTHING? Hmmmm...

A line is a line..so you are pregnant!!  If you haven't had any bleeding that is a good sign but it is possible to have had a missed miscarriage which mean the pregnancy is no longer viable but you have yet to pass anything.  But it is also possible the cramping you feel might be from implantation?!? I can't say anything for sure, The only ways to know for sure is to get your hcg checked once then again in 48 hours and the numbers should double if the pregnancy is going good.  Also Its still possible for you to be further along.  I had what I thought was a normal period and I was pregnant!!  SO..I wouldn't wait to recieve prenatal care thinking you are early in your pregnancy.  Hopefully I helped a little. Good Luck!!
