First miscarriage

Hello everybody. I am sad to announce that I just had my first (and hopefully only) miscarriage. It was actually officially called a missed abortion. I went in on Thursday for  a routine ultrasound and the tech could not find a heartbeat. I was 11 weeks along and the baby was measuring 10 weeks. Needless to say, My husband and I were crushed. We already have a two year old daughter and were looking forward to another this Summer. I had a d & c the following day. My questions are as follows... How long will it take to get pregnant again? Has anybody had a successful pregnancy right after a d & c?

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a m/c in sept but I had a natural m/c.My dr told me to wait 3 cycles before ttc but we chose not to. I'm almost 6 weeks pg now. I'm not sure if a d and c affects your ovulation that is a question for your dr. Have you gotten your first period yet? That is the deciding factor on when you will conceive. Good luck to you and lots of baby dust to you!

Yes and No. We used clomid because I was having some trouble ovulating/irregular cycles. But it worked the first time with both my pregnancies.

I bled for a week and then ovulated 13 days after the bleeding stopped, so 20 days after the miscarriage began.  I usually ovulate about 2 weeks after period begins, so this was later, but of course you body will probably be "off" this month due to the miscarriage.  We actually were going to wait for one period until ttc again, but it happened anyway.   Did you conceive easily with the pregnancy?

How long after you finished bleeding did you ovulate? I can't tell when I ovulate and I think opks would pick up left over pregnancy hormone.

I didnt, I actually can tell when I ovulate just based on cramps.  Do you ever get ovulation cramps? To me they feel like being bloated and having a side ache at the same time... different than menstrual cramps.  I can also tell pretty well based on cm, its usually egg white, and slippery around that time.

Did you use an opk to help you know when to bd?

I didnt have to have a d&c with my miscarriage ( i was only 5 weeks) but I did get pregnant right away with no period in between.  Im now almost 5 weeks, so of course Im worried because this was when I had the miscarriage last time.  Are you still bleeding? You might bleed for little while but then you should ovulate within a few weeks after bleeding stops.  You can then try again and I've heard many times that you are more fertile after a m/c.

Im sorry for your loss and good luck to you!
