Blood Work- nothing found :(

So, my MD ran the panel of all the bloodwork tests (karyotype, mthfr, homocysteine, antiphospholipids, antibodies, clotting, everything!)  Everything came back normal.  So I'm massively torn- part of me really wished that something would come back not right (hopefully something 'fixable'!!) but the rest of me is relieved.

Sigh, back to the drawing board on this- HSG will be in a week or two, if that's negative I guess we're a case of 'unexplainable' recurrent loss.  Sorry, no question here-  just hoping someone else can share in this mixed emotion.

Hey there.  I believe you are right about the MTHFR thing.  I have two abnormal mutations but normal homocysteine, so he says it is a "non-issue".  However, he still prescribed extra folic acid just in case.

We are doing a lot of "just in case" stuff.  I have been put in the unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss category.  Although I am sure my age is playing a factor too (39 y/o).  Still, I ran the whole battery of tests and then some.  And everything came back normal.

I have had four m/c.  Now we are trying IUI.  But again, all this fertility stuff may or may not work.  You just have to give it a whirl.  I hate it.  I can't believe modern medicine doesn't have a way of pinpointing the problem.  It completely baffles me that the problem cannot be found.

Good luck to all.   Sticky dust to everyone.

My husband has two healthy kids from his previous marriage.  The OB said it was unlikely to be any issue with him-  he is going in for the blood draw next week.

She did say that I carry one copy of the MTHFR (but that 50% of the population shares this).  My homocysteine level is normal, so it doesn't seem that the one mutation is causing any big issues.  I hadn't really seen that MD's know what to do to treat even two MTHFR gene mutations... I've heard that they just recommend extra B vits and folic acid, and possibly a baby aspirin.    Does that seem right?

I had MTHFR come up only after my 3rd MC. Has your husband been tested? My DH was tested for karyotpe, cystic fibrosis, etc. Nothing found is as you say - good and bad.
The HSG is another impt test. And maybe a hysteroscopy or or saline sonogram. I wish you much better luck next time.
