HCG levels dropping at 6 weeks after previous miscarriage

I can't believe it! On May 09th I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks of pregnancy, the doctor said I was early on the pregnancy and didn't need a D&C or an U/S I bled until the 13th and then stopped. My partner and I protected ourselves for the fallowing weeks since I had to do that for a month or until my next regular period after the miscarriage. By June 17th I had no period or cramping or anything I then took a pg test and come to find out I showed pg for the second time! took another test on the 21st and yup possitive again. Went to the dorctor and he ordered a HCG test I was 550 he said still no ultra sound or anything like it... went back on monday and my hcg levels dropped to 343! the doctor says it's another miscarriage I'm still not bleeding and not feeling sick in fact I have morning sickness everyday, I'm wondering if I should get a second opinnion and ago for an ultrasound or demand for him to take an ultrasound since he doesn't seem to want me to have one done? he doesn't want me to have a d&c he says it's better for me to wait until my body aborts by it self I'm going crazy and I'm very deppressed! please help

i would get a second opinion cause you never know, you could have been pregnant with twins and lost the first one last month.  it seems strange if you and hubby were careful.  i am so sorry for your loss and know how you feel since i had 2 MC's in 5 months myself.

If your dr wont do it, get second opinion or go to the er and tell them you are having stomache pains, they will do ultrasound.  And i am sorry for your loss.

Hi, i'm sorry for your loss. I would definatley get another opinion. Because your levels are decreasing you have no way to tell how far along you were so i would demand an ultrasound so you can at least get an ideas of how far long you were. If you were before 6 weeks then you will probably only see the sac but at least you will know where you stand.

Nowadays, doctors are leaning towards natural miscarriage but if you feel you want to have one then go to another doctor and demand one.

Did you get your levels tested again before you started trying? They may still be high from your last pregnancy. I had a miscarriage on 11th and my levels are still high and are decreasing very slowly. My doctor siad it could take up to two months for them to go back to what they should be (5).

Hope everything works out.
