Hiya, good luck with the appointment today, I'm so glad your husband is going along with you.  The Doc really shouldn't jump to conclusions about infection without any proof, that was wrong of her.  Is it the same Doc you are seeing today, if so make sure you have a list of questions you want for her and if possible make notes of her answers so you can read through them when you get home.

All the best.

I would advise you to follow your Dr's advice which sounds right to me.  A sonography will show whether your fallopian tubes are clear or not (apologies for thinking you had had one removed).  It is possible that you had an infection prior to your previous pregnancy but not a foregone conclusion.  We can have infections and not know about it sometimes.

Take it one step at a time.  Your husband cannot stop you from having the sonography test done.  If that proves to be ok then it will take some serious conversations with your husband to see if he will change his mind about having his sperm checked.  It is important to also discuss how you will both cope if the news is bad for either one of you.  It is important that neither of you feel under pressure.  He may also be worried that if the problem lies with him that you will no longer want to be with him.  These are areas that you need to discuss, you need to be supportive of each other.

Ask you Dr to be more specific about the infection she has mentioned.  Is she saying you definitely had an infection, did she run tests at the time or is she just guessing at this being the cause.  I've not heard of an ectopic pregnancy being caused by infection?

Perhaps you would both feel more comfortable seeing a different Dr but for the same tests as your original Doc has sugggested.  If you  husband does not trust your current Dr then it is understandable that he won't want to follow her advice whether it is good or not.

Best of luck
