Headaches after miscarriage?

Hello...first time posting.  I miscarried on May 12th (6 weeks to the day and on our wedding anniversary no less...Happy Anniversary).  Since last Saturday (May 22) I've had a non-stop headache.  I'm told it could be from my hormones and there's no doubt I'm stressed, sad, angry, resentful...the list goes on.  I was hoping that like some who have posted on here, I could treat my miscarriage like a period...the first day of bleeding is cycle day 1.  If this were true, today would be cycle day 16 and I've had NO cervical fluid at all.  Which tells me my body is not quite back to normal or back on a normal routine.  Has anyone else experienced these headaches/migraines?

I have a headache right now! I've had it for 2 days. I had a D&C last Thursday and have been stressed, depressed and crying. That may be why. I haven't stopped spotting and cramping and I know D&C is diffrent than a miscarriage as far as the cycles are concerned so I don't know about that. I do know that hormone changes cause me to have headaces so I would say there is a good chance that is what is happening with you.
I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you can get rid of that headache soon.

I to had a headache after my miscarriage for a couple of days.  It wore me out but so did all the crying and feelings :)

Hi there,
I too had bad headaches after the miscarriage and I rarely get headaches so it definitely worried me.  I thought it was from all of the crying and emotions (as well as hormones) but before I had my next period I again got the bad headaches.  I had to have a D&C on MArch 25th and I got my period only 24 days later but my next cycle after that was 30 days. I'm usually 33 days on the button but I guess our bodies have to adjust to the miscarriage and it can take a few months to do this.  We are ttc right now so hopefully we'll get a positive HPT this month- fingers crossed!  THere are posts of women getting pregnant again before getting a first period so try, try, try! It could happen and it could be you.

yes ma'am. i had awful headaches for about a month after my m/c. like the other ladies i think it was do to stress, sadness, grief, hormones, emotions, etc. once things calmed down a bit they began to taper off. i even went to a neurologist to have MRI scan just to be sure it wasnt anything serious and got meds for the headache pains i was having. since then (april) ive been pretty much headache free and havent had to take any of the meds. good luck with everything...

Thank you all for your responses.  I feel a little better now knowing I'm not the only one.  I'm going to call my OB this morning to confirm that headaches can in fact be a "side effect" from having a miscarriage.  I actually wish they would go away just not only because of the pain of course...but for the fact that it's a constant reminder of what happened.  I always thought I was a strong person but this situation actually knocked me back a few pegs.  Nothing, in my mind, can ever prepare you for the one thing you and your husband have been hoping for to be suddenly ripped away from you so hopefully we'll have better luck next time.  Thank you again for your replies and I'm sorry for all of you as well and hope none of us won't ever have to experience this loss again...
