How long will I bleed after 17wk miscarriage???

Hi everyone, I recently had a miscarriage at 17wks. I was induced on Jan 7th and gave birth to a perfect little boy we named Hunter. I passed everything naturally. I thought my bleeding was subsiding after about a week as it turned the dark brown color and I had one clean pad. I wasn't going to put another one on but I am glad I did because I started bleeding this bright red jelly looking stuff. It has been 10 days now and I am wondering how long will this last? Is this normal (the red jelly stuff)? Sorry so graphic. I don't know how else to say it.

I understand how you feel. My sister-in-law and I had the same due date. Even though I am happy for them it is sooo hard to see her belly growing. It is a constant reminder and very upsetting to me. You were right on, I stopped bleeding at 2 weeks out. I am very sorry for the loss of your precious baby.

I am so sorry to hear that someone else had to loose a child at 17 weeks.  I too had a miscarriage at 17 weeks ending in a D&C. There isnt a day that goes by that something doesnt remind me that I Lost the baby.  I just hope I dont keep hating people that are pregnant or have children forever.  I cant even talk to my friends that are pregnant.  As for the bleeding,  I bled for about 14 days.  It would be light for a couple days then heavy for a couple.  It finally stopped about 2 weeks after the procedure.

Thank you, you eased my worries.  It is comforting to know that there are others out there who are going through, or have gone through, losing a child. It is so painful. I am so sorry for your losses.

Im sooo sorry to hear bout your loss. I had a d&c jan 6 & i was 6weeks. i just stopped bleeding a couple days ago & the jelly lookin stuff you were talking about sounds somethin like what i had toward the end of my bleeding. so with you being farther along than i was in sure you are ok. Back in 2003 i had an infection in the linnin of my uterus & ended up havin him early. He lived for 10days =( i remember i bled for a long time after. So i know whar you are goin thru.
