provera post d&C

hi gals!
i had a d&C 5 weeks back, due to missed abortion at 11 weeks, the baby stopped developing at 7 weeks.my question is- is it safe to take provera 5 weeks post d&c to induce af?my husband is leaving in a month for 6 months.i want to ttc before that,n for that i need to have af first.m gonna see my doc today n discuss this with her,but still i wud like to know of experiences of anyone who had provera in 6th week post d&c.
wish me luck.i really need my baby back.

hi mjmom69!
i m sorry for ur loss.i know its one of the worst things that can happen to a woman.
n thnx for the reply.
i went to my gynae today,n discussed with her about provera, she even prescribed it to me.i was all set to start it from tomorrow, but i have started spotting from the evening.i guess i'll be having af soon, since it has always been preceeded by spotting for me, .n so i won't be taking provera now.
i hope things will work out in our favor this time.
thnx again.
god bless u.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. The same thing happened to me in May, I had a D&C at just past 11w and the baby had passed at 7w. My doctor wouldn't start me on Provera until 8w after the D&C. I was on that for 10 days and AF arrived the next day I believe. Take care and SSBD to you!
