Miscarriage or late period?

My last period started on january 20th, and my cycle is about 25 days. My next period should have started on february 15th. I had unprotected sex on january 30th. I miscalculated the days so i never got around to taking a pregnancy test after i realized i was late. My breasts were tender, i was extremely tired, and i had a lot of weird food cravings. My period would have been 8 days late starting today, except i suddenly started bleeding heavily. They are a lot of clots and and the blood is almost black. Is this a miscarriage or just a late period? If i took a pregnancy test now would i be able to find out?

i am confused- you said your period should have started feb 15th? if thats so, you are not late. and yes, if you take a home pregnancy test it will still come back positive, even when you miscarry, it can take up to a few weeks for the hormones to go back to 0.

I am in a very similar situation to you.  My husband and I are trying to concieve, I am 13 days late today had all the syptoms you mentioned and a few more.  But today started having dark almost black clots, but just a few.  Not sure if this is the start of my period and is black because I am so late, ( normally very regular) or if something else is going on.
