AF arrived :(

Well AF arrived...still sick, so I guess i am really just sick.  Kind of a sick joke, out of all the times to get a flu bug, the last week of the TWW!   I don't know if DH wants to keep "trying" so I am kind of sad.  Maybe if I just don't talk about it, it will help.  Who knows??  On the way to get some flu meds...at least I know I can take them now!

I did see your post. I had to cook dinner so got a little side tracked. I have an app tonight at 8 so ill try and get the info before then and post it.
you know the first dr I went to didnt mention anything about pre-natal. not even the nurse or anything. i had to ask them.
but the other Dr that a saw when i had the M/C, he also did the D&C. he actualy brought it up when I went for my Post-check-up. he said as I was about to leave... "make sure you are taking your pre-natal every day" he was very matter of fact that i must take them.

I take a extra foliate supplement also. i read that you cant over do it with foliate as the excess will just be peed out.

Hey did you see I started a new post, so we can stop hijacking Dani's.  I'll post the EPO info there tonight, if you'll put up what you've found out about Fish Oil.

Thanks!!

I started a new post about supplements for CM.  Could you put any info you have on pre-seed there?

About the pre-natals.  Before the m/c I was just taking regular multi-vitamins w/folic acid supplement, when I got my BFP and called for a dr's appt I was shocked when they didn't ask me about pre-natals, so they transferred me to a nurse and I had to talk her in to giving me an RX, weird ?!  Before my first appt, I switched dr's and that clinic didn't ask me about pre-natals either, so I just kept taking my original prescription.  That ran out shortly after the m/c.

I have a friend who works as a nursing assistant.  She originally worked in OB/GYN, but has since switched to Pediactrics.  I asked her about the pre-natals.  She said during her whole 1st pg, she only took OTC.  I asked again after the m/c, to ask her dr's and they said OTC is fine.  I am going to be sure to ask my RE about all this stuff during my first appt, but that's not till Dec.  My understanding is that the major concern is folic acid and all pre-natals have the required 800mg.

I personally would feel a lot better about things if I were on RX, for the sake of quality.  I questioned the guy at GNC about generics and why GNC brand was better.  He said that GNC goes through a rigourous (sp?) testing and their vits are approved by some entity that's written on the bottle.  I am seriously questioning my generic brand, and would think the GNC brand would be the next best thing.  As soon as I finish this bottle, I will be getting those.

Bam-   I didnt get the pre-natal vit pack. I figured i didnt need extra calcium because i eat a eat one to two yogurts a day and milk with cereal and that. I guess I should look into that.
the fish oil is good to take even if your not pregnant because its good for the brain. and during pregnancy its good for the neurological development of the baby. I kinda felt bad getting more pre-natals because i didnt realize i had so many left at home. I have a weekly pill container and have my morning and night pills already in there little compartments.. i found i was forgetting if i took my pre-natals at night (they make me sick if I take them in the morning) and this way i know for sure. I just put everything i take at the meal in there.

Dani- I asked my Dr when i went to have my cervix opened about prescription pre-natals and he said they are the same as at the store. now im curious. ill look more into that!
***** you have to go so far for anything! maybe I wouldn't spend so much money if i knew i had to drive so far to spend it... lol

Nunu and Bam

are you guys not on the dr. prescribed prenatels and folic acid???  My dr. insisted I stay on those because they were stronger...maybe cause I'm a veggie or because there was something wrong with my fetus?? Just curious!  Must be nice to just run to the store to GNC or Walmart..that is a day trip for me and hour and a half each way!!  Funny.

I picked up the fish oil on my lunch hour.  It was somewhat amusing, me asking the male employee about fertility stuff LOL  Did you get their pre-natal vit pack, with the DHA and Calcium supplements?  I almost did, but I still have some left at home, so I just picked up some extra Calcium, as well as the Fish Oil.

DH gets up at 4:30 in the morning, so I just get a peck on the cheek as he leaves.  Then I have school Mon/Tues night and he's asleep by the time I get home.  So I should say we see each other, just not while we are awake :)  Only 3 more weeks left to this semester, then I have all of December off.  I'm so excited.

oh got ya! lol yea there are a few on here that I look forward to reading there comments and communicating with. my friends right now are people ive never even met...lol !
I went to GNC and got EPO and pre-natals. I usually get pre-natals from walmart as well.
ok, so no EPO after O... thats crazy it can cause uterine contractions.
as for the flax seed. ill find the websites where i read that about not taking while pregnant, there were a few, and Ill get back to you.
Im lucky, I get to see DH often. he goes to work at 5.30am and is usually home by 12 noon. he is a helicopter mechanic and on call 24/7 but as long as the helicopter is looked after and nothing is wrong with it he only has to be at work for 4 hours. today he got called to a different hanger though so he gona be late.

"fast and furious" I just meant, it was nice to see so many posts from you.  I had been wondering were my friend nunu was and I missed your comments.  It wasn't literal.

My 2nd mom, says her sister swears it was the fish oil that got her pg 18 years ago, so I've been interested in trying it.  Maybe while I'm stopping at GNC for the fish oil, you'll be stopping at yours for the EPO LOL :)  Do you think I should discontinue the flaxseed and switch to the fish oil?  I agree about the cheapy wal-mart brands, but that is where my pre-natals and all husbands vits are from.  They are the Spring Vally brand.  I've googled it and haven't seen a problem with them.  I'm going to finish up these bottles and switch to something else then.  (note the lack of confidence in getting a bfp anytime soon :(

If I haven't pointed this out strongly enough in prior posts, you are NOT to take EPO after you O.  It can cause uterine contractions, which is not good.  Now my last question is do I take the fish oil same time as EPO, or do I EPO 1st half and FO 2nd half?  More rehtorical - I'll have to look it up tonight.

Ha, I haven't seen DH since Sunday and now tonight I'm comitted to playing on the computer - won't he be happy :)

fast and furious??? I hadnt had a chance to get on much since before the weekend. we had a busy weekend at the airforce flight show and then went to our old town on Sunday. not sure what the heck ive been doing Monday and Tuesday though... senior moment i guess hehe

ok fish oil.. i get mine from GNC (GNC brand). i was taking cheep walmart brand then decided i didnt trust it while trying to conceive. GNC has a three dose, two dose and one dose. I take the two dose, one mornong and one night. i chose this because i dont know how well your body will absorb the EPA and DHA in one dose. it is triple purified as to take mercury out. they say to take a supplement from a single fish rather than a whole bunch of fish and from the body not the skin. not sure if this is how it is with this supplement but i like that it is purified more than the normal fish oil supplement.
also they say fish oil is better before and during pregnancy and while breastfeeding than flax seed because flax seed can interfere with hormones.  Ill find that info for you if you want.
Ill go to GNC and look if i can pull myself away from the computer

I was wondering about the fast and furious posting and why I hadn't seen you around in a few days :)

Did you still need me to post the info on EPO.  I got mine from GNC - 500mg.  You are supposed to take 1500mg to 3000mg a day for CM.  I took 2 in the morning and 2 at night, so 2000mg total.  After O, I'm now taking flaxseed oil.  I was thinking about getting fish oil, but I can't find any with quality ingrediants.  What brand do you have? And what are the ingrediants?

the robitussen thay say to take if you do want to try it is the the one with only Guaifenesin in it. so the one that loosens the mucus only and is not a cough suppressant with other active ingredients.

lol about all the work... my only work this morning is checking three days worth of posts on here and deleting them form my in-box. the guy just changed the front window on my car for the third time and i cant go anywhere. its 10.45 and ive been on here so long i forgot to have breakfast.

when i can drive my car in an hour im going to go get some EPO. i always knew it was good but like alot of other supplements i havent got around to taking any. right now i take fish oil for my own brain and for when i get pregnant again for the babies brain development. my step-son has ADHD and i ill do anything for my baby not to have to deal with that. I also take my prenatals and B6. they told me to take B6 when i was having morning sickness. they say sometimes it is caused by B6 deficiency so if i take it now then i shouldn't be deficient when i do get pregnant and maybe wont get morning sickness so bad. I also take an enzyme to help with my acid reflux i get bad. i stopped taking my prescription after i found out i was pregnant the first time. the dr said i could take it when i went to my first ultrasound. two weeks later i lost the twins. not sure if it had anything to do with my prescription but i dont want to take that chance again and will try go natural to help with it.

When I get home tonight I'll put out a post on EPO.  I read about the Robitussen too, but I found that you are only suppose to take a certain kind, and now I can't remember which.  I'll see if I can dig that up too.

Crud . . . I have so much work to do, I gotta go :)

I am excited to learn something new that seems to be working for someone to help with CM!!!!! AS i have got older my CM is not what it used to be. i used to notice it a lot but not so much anymore. i tried Guaifenesin but have read that you shouldn't use this when trying to conceive... it didnt help anyway.
what brand do you use? and you find it works that good? also do you know if it helps to be lubricated when intimate with DH? I find i dont stay as wet as i would like. they say some woman are like that while others get really wet. nothing to do with how turned on you are, just not as much Creation as others do.

EPO is a vitamin.  It is the good kind of fat.  You are only supposed to take it during the 1st half of your cycle - AF to O (as it is known to cause contractions in the uterus).  I'm at work, so I don't have all the research I did on it.  But theory has it that it is supposed to help your CM be more inviting for the swimmers.  I took 1000mg in the morning and another 1000mg at night.  It may also take up to 3 months to kick in (as with all the vits I gave DH), but I swear I noticed a differance this month.  I can't remember the last time I had discharge that acutally ended up on my undies.  I think that DH might have even noticed a differance ;)  I don't track CM right now, but after I get done reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility, I will probably start.  I totally agree with your last sentence!!

mapes...I can imagine how hard the pregnancy must.  I realize that that is the next big obsticle.  Please don't hesisate to write me when you are concerned about anything!  I am just sitting here waiting for my BFP and know that eventually will be going through what you are-- I am so happy you got to hear the heart beat!

Bam-what is the Evining Primose Oil?  the same concept I guess?  I have no CM, so the pre-seed is supposed to mimick your own, and help those swimmers.  I had DH read about it yesterday and it talked about how stressfull TTC is and how everything needs to be "right" and he said YES, it sounds like something that would make things fun again.  I realize it is not a big thing, but It would probably seem better for the man TTC to think his wife is at least a little more inviting!!!

Way to keep things spicey!  It'll be interesting to see if the Pre-Seed works?  Am I correct in assuming that it's supposed to keep the swimmers alive longer and almost act like cervical fluid?  I got as far as the vitamins and was researched out.

I did start taking the Evening Primrose Oil this month (1st half of cycle) and swear that this is the first time, in forever, that I have noticed a watery CM.

I'm feeling surprisingly well.  I'm usually pretty sick by now, but so far I feel good.  Sore bbs and tired, but otherwise good.  I went to the doctor for the first time yesterday, and I got to hear the heartbeat.  I was so excited.  Both other times I went, it was too early to hear a heartbeat.  Now we just wait and go back in 4 weeks.  I'm really thrilled, but I'm not out of the woods yet.  I thought I worried about every little symptom when ttc, but it's been even worse since I got the bfp.  Good luck with the preseed.  Hopefully DH will have enough swimmers for a good race next month :)

Thanks everyone!  Has anyone else tried the Pre-seed?  I was reading even more about it, and so many people swear by it.  I guess all I can do is try it for a little while, and if no luck by then, maybe we will see if the Dr. can tell us more.  I am sure DH riding the horses like he does can't help, he even got back into the rodeo this summer in the middle of TTC...you ever watch what those guys do...it can't be good for the swimmers.  Maybe with the winter coming up it will help them regroup :)
Thanks for all your support during my TWW and will be sure to be rooting for you all.

Mapes...how are you feeling?  any new fun symptoms yet???  How are the drs. appointments going?

yes Aug baby would be fine for me! I told DH about that preseed stuff I have seen on the internet...when asked what people did different the month they got preg,  SO many said Preseed.  I told DH what it was and he seems so excited about trying something diff. next month!  I don't think next month will be a problem for us anymore, becuase at least there will be something new to try.  So that brought my hopes up too!  I think that stuff will help in the bedroom for us too :) anything to keep it fun!

Bam-good luck!  I don't envy the TWW, but I can't figure out what is the hardest the TWW or WAITING for the TWW :)

I agree with GMB, although it certainly is no easy task.

So sorry AF had to come.  But Dani, wasn't it you who suggested, just not telling DH when you're going to O.  Take the pressure off of him.

SSBD - Now you're trying for an Aug baby :)
