Hcg is the pregnancy hormone in your blood stream, its what they test for to see if you are pregnant.
I had an incomplete miscarriage due to retained product (some of the pregnancy product still in my uterus) so I was still spotting on and off, I had to have an operation to remove the left over products, its called a d&c. I'd say your doctor is worried there is retained product, if so its very serious and you need to have it removed as it can get infected and you could get very sick.
Your doctor should test your blood first to see what your hcg level is, if is above 5 then you most likely have retained pregnancy product and might need a d&c. Definitely don't have sex until you find out what is going on, your boyfriend should understand and be happy to wait until you are better and have stopped bleeding.
Also, if you have to have an operation it might be good if your boyfriend is home, you will need him to drive you to and from the hospital and to look after you for the first night, it will be a very emotional time for you.
The miscarriage was not your boyfriends fault, it wasn't your fault either, it was just bad luck.
thank you, what's a hgc level? my doctor doesn't even know what to do cause I should have stopped bleeding by now, so he is sending me to a specialist but they beleive they will have to do a scrape or something else internally which is why I booked it for when he is at work, cause he get upset/angry when Im upset or on pain cause of the missacarridge as he blames himself.
You should really wait until the bleeding has stopped to avoid an infection. Can you book in to see your doctor sooner ? Still bleeding after 3 weeks seems like a long time, you should definitely speak to your doctor and maybe ask for a follow up blood test to check your hcg levels and to ensure you have had a complete miscarriage.
I'm sorry for your loss.
