Could i have a luteal phase defect

Hi ladies...I am feeling better today...I have been reading reading and reading some more..and I know that this is going to take some time but I need some help on how to do it..

we have decided not to try again for atleast 3 months....but my question is how do i accurately track my cycles, I think i may have a luteal defect after prolonged use of Depo Provera...after my daughter who will be 13 next month I was on Depo for 11 years...

I am thinking this may be the cause for my miscarriages I know I am able to have children since i have 3 no problem there...

As most of you know I have never tracked my cycles before only started after my miscarriage in April....but i have had the thought in the back of my mind that there was something weird about my last pregnancy....

I miscarried April 13th....no d&c needed...

my cycle returned May 13th....i started having pregnancy symptoms around May 21st...keeping in mind that all my charts said I shouldnt ovulate until May 27th...I got my first BFP on June 6th....
I began spotting on June 20th and bleeding on the 22nd....I had to have a d&c on the 25th...
I plan to start tracking my next cycle to see if I can get an idea about how long my luteal phase is and if this may be the reason....but I just need some help to do this the right way...

Thanks

At both miscarriages I ovulated 16 days after the miscarriage (some people it takes longer). I guess you’re supposed to count the miscarriage like a period. I usually ovulate 14 days after my period, but I guess when I miscarried it took 16 and then I went back to normal at 14- days post period. I used digital ovulation sticks by Clearblue. I began monitoring the surge at 12 days post first day of my period. (I also cramp during ovulation and have cervical mucus so I am in lucky that way. Although I can’t self- detect my surge, I know when it is going to happen soon.
As for when and if you are ready to try again... I took all the blood tests to check for problems, and a hysteroscopy (a camera that checked out my uterus). Everything was intact, so for me at 44, it just comes down to whether a good egg implants or not. My docs are all about "could help can't hurt" so I am also on blood thinners, progesterone (began 3 days post ovulation), and baby aspirin. At any rate, miscarriages are very hard I know- One day I was fine; the next I was crying. But what got me through was a personal project: HEALTH. I hired a trainer, ate well, drank water, and looked at it everything through the eyes of a warrior going into battle. Looks like you are doing the same thing! (I saw the weight tracker). Anyway, when you are ready, you can definitely carry a baby to term! You are YOUNG as far as I am concerned. I have to friends your age (actually one is 37 the other is 40) who are in their second trimester. Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to write.

Hey
You know I am always here for you!!!  I think the best thing to do and what you are doing is to heal from both of them, I think you are making the right decision!!!

I feel the exact same thing about you.  I must admit it did scare me a bit hearing you lost your little one.  I think it was very unfortunate for you and I am so sad you have to experience it again.

I am always here for you :)

Hi Karla....

My last period was May 13th...and im not sure when i ovulated because i dont know what to look for...Ive never kept track...

I have to be strong even though I know I couldnt even think of ttc right now....I believe that once I give my body a chance to bounce back and hopefully get some tests done that I will be able to carry my little one to term...

Words can not begin to express how grateful I am to have found you on this site...you are truly a blessing with all of your support and caring words...

Thank you my friend

Hey

I'm not sure why you would miscarry twice in a row but I guess it comes down to it just happening :(

The doctor said it might have been an ectopic.  I have read a few things on the net which might give you a little insight.  I can't remember the websites.  It said that the egg only lasts 12 to 24 hours.  If the egg is fertilised closer to the end of it's life span you have a higher chance of miscarrying I guess that is because it slowly disinegrates once it is released.  I also read that it has to take 7 plus days to implant.  If the egg moves to slowly it will implant in the tubes and if it moves to fast it will implant in the wrong place int he uterus.

I wander if your body is ovulating too late???  I think that it is really difficult to say what went wrong and I think you have made the right decision to wait 3 months to regulate your body. When did you get your last period??? and when did you start getting signs of ovulation.

It was terrible what happened to you and I am thinking of you!!!!  You are very strong to ttc again in a few months. I definately give you credit for that, I don't think I could :(  I'm always here for you!!!
