Non-doubling HCG levels and small gestational sac compared to egg sac

Hi there,  I am 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and I had light spotting for 3 days (it has now stopped).  I took a quantitative HCG test and it was 2030 and 36 hours later it only went up to 2500.  The doctor is concerned that it is not a viable pregnancy.  Then I had an ultra sound and they said the gestational sac is quite small compared to the egg sac but they did see the fetal pole (no heart beat yet) - they said the overall size looks to be that of a 5 week 5 day pregnancy.  They say I have only a 10% chance the pregancy will be viable?  Does this seem reasonable???  Help!!!

Some women do "bleed/spot" during the first trimester when they would normal have there cycle, which would be about 5 weeks pregnant.  It's very possible that you ovulated later that cycle and really are just 5 wks 5 days.

Try to relax and wait for another ultrasound and check the numbers.  As long as the baby is growing there's always a chance!

I really hope everything turns out ok for both of you, It's very hard going through a miscarriage, and moving on.
