Please help me!

I am so scared, dont know what to do. I went to my doctor, I am 9 weeks pregnant. After a vaginal U/S they told me that the baby has no heartbeat. It is developed perfectly exactly where it should be at this time. HCG levels are still rising, in fact doubling every other day. yet they still hold that i will have a D&C in 4 days. Does this happen?

I am very sorry for your loss and, I too miscarried at nine weeks and I was the most devastating thing I've been through.  I wish ou the best if you decide to try again =)  are you getting any tests done to see why you've had recurrent miscarriages????

Hi, I would say ask them to wait a wk to check.... i went for a u/s when i was  9 wks and 2 days and had started to bleed the day before, there was no heart beat and the baby had stopped growing at 8 wks and 2 days, i miscarried a few days after. when i researched on the net i found that it normally takes a week for the miscarriage to start if the baby has died, that is what happened to me. i would defo ask for another u/s in a weeks time or so as  i have also read that sometimes they find they can't find a heartbeat and not to worry, with your baby being the right measurement i would say ask them to check again. good luck i hope all is well xxxx

i had the same thing happen...i'm 19 and went for my 8 week appt with my midwife and she didn't feel anything...she could barely feel the baby at all...when i got a regular ultrasound nothing showed up so i got the internal one there was no heartbeat but she said teh baby was closer to ten weeks. so idk what's going on. apparently the baby is still growing but is it too late to hope for teh heart to start working?

I am so sorry to hear that for you, but at this point I was just ready to stop playing the guessing game and get on with it. (Hope that dosen't sound calloused)  I hope you have a good support group to get you through the  coming days.  And I wish you the best if you choose to try again.  I needed to talk about it like crazy to heal so feel free to become a friend or invite me a as a friend for a more personal setting to chat:)  I'm all ears,.....well eyes I suppose.

My doc did some genetic testing and found that I have mthfr blood disorder.  I guess the jury is out as to whether or not this actually causes miscarriage but I was glad they found it ....if for no other reason than my own health.  I have the one with two mutations, homo something or other.  But at any rate it is some kind of closeure.

It's terrible that you've had to go through this so many times already.  I will be praying for you.  Trust God, as hard as that seems right now.  He already has a plan.  Blessings:)

I went to the doctor again, my HCG levels are dropping rapidly now. They have given me misoprostol to induce the miscarriage. They are also doing some genetics testing to see what is causing me to miscarry. Thanks again for your answers and your help. Take care!

Thanks so much for you answers and support. Sue i had my first m/c at home, i opted to do it that way as it felt more intimate. The doctors would like a d&c this time however, to test tissues and fluids around the baby. I will definately be doing a lot of checking before i allow them to take my baby though. I know they are professionals, but even doctors can be wrong. As soon as I hear something monday i will feel better i'm sure. Whether it be good or bad, at least i will know.

whatittakes,

Please go for a second ultrasound/ opinion a week or so before you decide how you want to m/c.  You should decide what you feel is better for you - not your doctors. Just don't rush into a d & c so soon after a diagnosis.  When you go for your 2nd appointment they can check your hcg levels and do another scan to compare the size of the sac/embryo with this recent u/s.  Then you could make a decision without ever second guessing.   Good luck to you - keep us posted - I hope to hear happier news.

No, i have had no bleeding, of any kind. No cramping. I have had two miscarriages in the past. And neither felt anything like this time. I miscarried at 3 months with my first, but the baby had stopped growing at 6 wks. My second, i didn't even know i was pregnant until i started bleeding in between periods, and went to the doctor. Now i am playing the waiting game to see if my levels dropped between wed and friday's blood draws. The doctors are supposed to contact me on monday. Thank you so much, and many blessings to you and yours as well.

Are you having any bleeding?

I went in for my 9 wk apt to find out my baby didn't have a heartbeat either.  But mine had stopped growing at 6wks and I was having a little spotting.  Even at that I had friends and a nurse suggest that I wait for another week atleast and make sure it wasn't a viable pregnancy.  I did end up miscarrying in the end.  My point though, I would wait so that you have no second guessing your decision in the end.  If the baby isn't growing you'll know or have some other symptoms I would think. It's such a hard place to be.  I feel for you.  I wish you the best.  Blessings on your family:)
