very slow rising hcg please help!!

I had my hcg tested at 16 dpo after a FET and was happy with my result of 201 but just got the result of my 2nd test and it's only risen to 293 in 4 days!!

I am feeling that this is not good and don't know if this pregnancy has a chance of surviving so if anyone could help with any experiences of slow rising hcg that would be fantastic.  I would appreciate any replies as I'm feeling very sad right now.

That is more on track of what you would expect it to do. Hopefully everything is great!

Beta had risen to 1470 from 293 in 5 days so hoping it's getting back on track. Going to stop stressing now and hope for the best!

just an update .. I got all my pregnancy symptoms back on sunday after having a very sad weekend and now when I test on a clearblue pg conception indicator test .. pregnant 3+ weeks comes up straight away .. maybe I will be in that 10% of slow rising levels that succeeds .. I certainly hope so!  another beta tomorrow which hopefully will show a big increase!

It can vary tones99.. Generally related to how fast your numbers drop and how high the are too start.  When my ovum stopped developing, I found out 5 weeks later that it had stopped developing and at that point, I had no bleeding.  Some people it takes a week, some people wait it out for several weeks.  If you can wait it out, its probably definitely better to do it naturally.  It could happen very suddenly or take some time.

Hoping for the best for you

I don't think it's eptopic as it had a very normal beginning with good hcg at 16 dpo, I don't know for sure, but my friend's who've had eptopics have had very low hcg for a start that then rises slowly .. I don't have any pain either .. I imagine that if they suspected that they would be getting me in asap but they (my clinic) doesn't want to see my for another week.

I can't wait that long so am going to my doctor (gp) on weds .. I just need to know what's happening so I can prepare myself.

Does anyone know how long it will be before I bleed if this pregnancy is indeed failing?  I don't want to have another d & c as don't want to wait before ttc again ..

this could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. with ectopics your hcg will rise but it only rises slowly so it may be a good idea to have them check for that with an ultrasound. good luck.

You are not alone. Everyone women here would cling to any chance of hope in a pregnancy especially after going through everything that you have so far.

I hope you are able to get more posters here from some of those people who have had slow rising HCG as well..

Are you going back for more tests?

thanks for your comment .. the doctor had a wait and see approach and didn't want to say anything negative .. I know that I would be in a minority if this works out but I will cling to that small hope

we have only just got over our m/c in late June .. I was 12 weeks then and had seen a healthy baby up to 9.5 weeks .. if this one doesn't work out I would much prefer that we find out now rather than have to deal with the grief of losing a fully formed baby but want this baby so much .. we really felt that this was the one .. after nearly 5 years ttc and 3 rounds of IVF, we felt this baby was strong and going to last the distance .. now we have to start making plans on what we're going to do next

For the most part as you have indicated, numbers that are not rising as much as they expect usually means the pregnancy isnt viable.  I have read of a couple people who's HCG lvls did not exactly double but they rised slightly in a 48 hour period and then they suddenly got a surge...  Im sorry you are going through this.  I have also read a couple stories where lab results were wrong the 2nd time around - misread, mixed up.  The probability that the pregnancy is not viable is high but they say dont give up hope if the numbers are still rising.  I hope that your pregnancy turns out to be okay as I know how hard it is to go through a miscarriage.

What was the doctors view on this?
