Pregnancy after a Miscarriage

Hi I had a M/C 1 week ago.  I was 5.5 weeks pregnant.  I had a natural M/C.  I've been reading everywhere on the net that some doctors will recommend to wait at least one cycle before starting to try again.  Is this really necessary?  I stopped bleeding 6 days after I miscarried.  I feel great and can't wait to get pregnant again.  My husband is all for the waiting as he doesn't want to go through another M/C but I don't feel I can wait.  I want so much to be pregnant again and I can't wait to hold another little one in my arms again.  What are you thoughts and experience on this matter?
Thanks!

I second what StephRox13 said.  The reason for a period after a m/c is so the doctor can accurate date the next pregnancy.

I'm of two minds on this.  One part says if you're ovulating, your body is ready and whatever to what the doctor says.  BUT the other part says that if you're not sure when that ovulation took place, you may put yourself through undue stress of not knowing if the baby is developing on time.  If you're 'sure' you ovulated on the 15 (for example) but the first ultra sound shows the 22, you may be worried that the baby isn't developing correctly or is delayed.  All may turn out OK in the end, but you don't really need more stress on top of everything else you've already gone through.

And I have to say - but I'm hesitant as it's not really my business, but - you should probably give yourself time to grieve your loss before you try again.  Regardless of how early a miscarriage is, a loss is a loss.  You don't want to taint your next pregnancy because you didn't properly deal with the first one you lost.  Your baby deserves your full attention and heart.  But like I said, it's not my place to say if you've grieved enough or not.

What ever you decide, good luck! :)

The main reason why doctor want you to wait at least 1 cycle is so they can "date" your pregnancy when you get preggers again. After a miscarriage they're unsure of exactly where you are in your cycle. So when your period starts after you m/c you have a definite CD1.

I'm going to see my GP today hopefully I'll get some kind of answer.
Thanks to all for your responses!  It's certainly nice to know that I'm not alone!

All I know is that I'm dying to get pregnant again and it's really hard to imagine waiting.. waiting seems so long and boring lol

I feel emotionally ready and I feel that getting pregnant again would certainly boost my spirits!

Do any of you have any tricks on remembering to take your prenatal vitamines.. I seem to forget to take them all the time especially since I'm so sleepy in the morning!

Thanks Again!

I was told to wait about 1-2 cycles after a mc, but I had d&c's done for both of mine in a 6 month period, so my doc recomended I wait 4-6 months before trying again. good Luck!

I am in the same boat- miscarried at 5 weeks and want to start trying before this all really starts to get to me. I keep thinking once you ovulate aren't you ready? Good luck to you with this :)

Do what feels right with your body, the wait has a large part to do with mental healing so if you are sure then I believe you should go for it :) I waited all of 6 days to start trying I had stopped bleeding and it hurt a little but 2 days later I was fine
