ok iv taken a test,it was negative.so at least i know im back to o.but it still could have been to early to detect the hormone if i was pregnant.iv got sore breasts and stomach pains on odd occasion, thats it.but that could be a sign of my period aswel.im going to wait a week and see what happens in the meantime no more trying until i know wots going on properly.

I think if you have been trying, then if you do a pregnancy test and it shows up negative, then at least you know your levels have returned to zero. That way if you do get a positive result later on before AF arrives, at least you will then know its an actual pregnancy and not just hormones that haven't returned to zero.
If you do a test now and it shows up positive(without getting a negative or your AF first), you will need to go to the doctors and have several blood tests to see if the hormones are going up or down, to find out for sure if it is a pregnancy.
My OB told me to wait one cycle first before trying again. I had a D&C at 12 weeks, my baby measured 8w 3d.

Unless you'r really feeling like your pregnant then I would wait a few more days.  It really all depends on when your levels went down to zero, if they did right away then theres a higher chance.

I would say to wait a few days before taking a test.  If you do, you might get a false negative.  If you know you ovulated around xmas eve then you are around the time you could get a positive.

I ovulated about 2 1/2 weeks after my D&C, and I believe it was about a week after I had some bleeding.

Was your baby 16 weeks along or was it less than 12 weeks?  I have heard that if you had a miscarriage and the baby was in the second trimester or later that it does take your body longer to get back to normal.

For Uptowngril - I talked to two different dr's, a midwife, and looked online for that answer as I do just want to be pregnant again!  One dr told me 3 cycles (most common from what I read online), another dr told me one normal cycle, and my midwife told me 2 cycles.  It also depends on how far along you/the baby was.  If the baby was in the second or trimester you need to wait longer because it will take longer for your body to heal.  It also depends on if you had a D&C or not.

Here's the basic information that could help you decide.

If you have a D&C they scrape a lot off the lining out, so by waiting at LEAST one cycle it helps to make it so the baby can embed into it easier.

If you had a natural miscarriage I haven't found any reason to wait at least one cycle other than to make sure everything was flushed out and to date the next pregnancy.

I had a D&C, I was 11 1/2 weeks along and the baby was 6 1/2 weeks along, I've decided to wait one normal cycle (which happened to be the first cycle).

I do suggest if you have a D&C to at least wait one cycle, but it's really up to you.
