Anytime there is any sort of bleeding or spotting they use the term "threatened miscarriage". In an early pregnancy there is really nothing they can do but wait and see. I can give you some statistics here....app. 30% of women will bleed or spot during pregnancy. You will hear that it's ok if it's brown, not ok if it's red or pink. That isn't true...the bleeding may be brown, pink or red and it all is the same. of the 30% that will bleed or spot, app. 50% of those will go on to be healthy normal pregnancies. So this is common. It's hard not to worry. Let your Dr. know...there is no need to go to a hospital unless the bleeding is heavy. They can do an ultrasound to see what is happening, depending on how far along you are. If it is still early, they can do two blood tests, appp. 48 hours apart that will show if your HCG (pregnancy hormones) are rising, which is what they want.
Good luck to you. I know firsthand how scary this is.
Some things to remember...there are many reasons we bleed. Our cervix is very soft during pregnancy and easily irritated. So even having sex can cause bleeding, although it won't hurt the baby. Give your Dr. a call, and hopefully they can put your mind at ease a bit.
Stress is no good on neither You nor bub, as hard as it seems You have to relax.
I had spotting and bleeding in early pregnancy as well as cramping and pain (which You do not have) and am now almost 7 months pregnant and he is fine.
I would try not to stress as much and if You can see a doctor soon just to be safe. Not much that can be done early except rest
I went straight to the hospital at the first sign of blood during my pregnancy. The blood was pink and very very fresh looking- not dark. When I got to the hospital they informed me I had a "threatened miscarriage" which put me at greater risk for one. I was put on bed rest for a few days... You need medical attention! They can do an internal sonogram and listen for the little things heartbeat and check your level (blood test/urine test).
I have a healthy 2 year old so just stay calm, and go get it checked out to ease your mind!
Good luck.
