Tissue passing with meds instead of a D&C

I had an m/c beginning of this month. I decided not to have a D&C and just use medication that will give me cramps (basically have a mini labor is what the dr. described it to me as). I can’t remember the name of the meds I know it starts with an M and you insert it into the vagina. My first dosage most of the tissue passed. A week later tissue was still shown in the u/s so I had to go through another dosage of different kind of meds. I thought and perhaps some did pass but in my second checkup (two weeks in now) tissue is still showing so I went through a third dosage but I went back to the same meds as the first one. Anyhow I am pretty sure nothing passed but then I’m not 100%. So right now the dr. is ordering me to have a D&C. But my question is the tissue not passing because I was wearing a tampon; while I was taking the meds I didn’t wear a tampon or a pad because I didn’t have any pads plus my dr. never expressed that I was not to wear tampons. Plus I’ve been bleeding but now that I am wearing a pad no blood is being seen on the pad but I wear a tampon and it just absorbs without a problem. Has anyone has this issue?

you should try wearing a pad, so all that must come out will come out naturally. I m/c at 12 weeks, dnc done on week 14...continued to bleed for quiet a while after my dnc-lots of blood clots, uterus lining shed, and then it turned to slimey bloody discharge for awhile. I recommend the dnc to help get rid of anything that could cause infection and to help you build your lining back up with a clean slate so to speak. Best of luck, hope it works out for you in the long run.....

sorry for your loss,

you are best having a d and c to make sure nothing is left behind, it will feel a little uncomfortable but better than getting an infection that could turn nasty.

good luck
