many allergy medicines are ok during pregnancy, don't worry
good I hope so cause i just went out and got benedrly, itchy eye releif drops and nasal spray!! i woke up this morning and my husband said "wow, do you feel as bad as you look!" :)
Just for your own health, take care of your allergies now that you are not pregnant. When you do get pregnant is when you need to stay of everything and make sure that if you "heard is bad" don't take it even if they tell you other wise. Thats what happend to me but I was already pregnant. I drank chamomile knowing that I had heard it was bad. A lot of websites say chamomile is taken by women who are pregnant and should not be a hazard to the baby. Well to me it was just to much of a coincidence that I drank the tea and days later I was in ER. My ob doctor, the midwife, my general doctor, doctor administrator, friends, doulas, everyone says that I am crazy and that had nothing to do with that. A lot of comments I got from yahoo, and mexican yahoo, tell me they drank chamomile throughout their pregnancies. Well no one is going to take the guilt away from me. So when you get pregnant again, thats when you be extra careful. For now make sure you take care of yourself so that you are very healthy and don't get sick during pregnancy. Also, its good that you start taking care of yourself as if you were pregnant, take folic acid since now. Make sure your iron count is leveled, bcuz after you have a mc your iron drops dramatically. Take care and think twice about what u take once u are preg. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. take care.
benadryl is on the safe medication list. so isn't claritin and a few others. i will try to find my pregnancy folder that i got from the prenatal nurse, but those 2 are on it cause i took them safely before. so aren;t things like plain robitussin.
I know what you mean about guilt, when I was pregnant and didn't know, I was using alot of stain at work, and I read it recentley and it said "proven to cause bith defects' but now that is my biggest reason for hope in the future, because if that was it, then it shouldn't happen again,,,but who knows. I have been on folic acid and prenatels for around 3 months, and am healthy otherwise. you just can't think "what if i did something different" just change the future!! :) Thanx
I wish I could remember where I put that folder with all that stuff in it. When I found out there was a problem I put everything out of sight. I called my Dr's office to ask a question, but they are in Jackson Hole Wy. and are really busy. The hospital here in ID doesn't take high risk pregnancy patients and does't really do c-sections, so i chose to go there for my peace of mind. It still amazes me how much more you learn about pregnancy in general after a trama like this. i was on the internet today looking up conception and got really into the whole process of genetics...just another experience to learn from.
Thanx again for all your info. you have been a real help. Still looking forward to your update, my thoughts are with you!!
dani711- it is amazing what we learn. after 2 MC's, i swear i have researched everything there is to know.
Hi Dani- I was able to dig up my folder of info the dr gave me when I was pregnant. For allergies or sinus congestion it has that Claritin, Zyrtec or Chor-Trimeton are safe to take during pregnancy. Hope this helps and good luck!
Thanx! I will try zyrtec next, nothing seems to help. I know it sounds crazy to worry about allergey medicine, but they are so bad! I want to stay in the bast heath possible and they are driving me nuts! and with being able to try the ovulation kit and start trying in a couple days, I gotta make sure my body is a safe environment...I just never thought I would actually have to "Try" to have a baby...weird hugh?
It's not weird at all I think it's only normal to think that way after we've gone through what we have. I had a missed miscarriage at 14 weeks and I've just now gotten my period so I'm super anxious to start trying again but I know that I will be even more cautious than I was before. Good luck and keep me updated!
