whats going on???

My last menstrual period was october 28 and was normal. In November my period was a couple days late as i usually have 26 or 27 day cycles, i didnt think anything of it because my husband and i werent trying yet but werent being careful either i thought the cause of being late was maybe stress or working so much (i usually work 12 hrs a day)  on the 29th i took a test and got a faint positive so i waited until the next morning and got another faint positve. I went out and bout several of the digital ones that say yes or no and took them over the next 2 days and all said yes. Well on dec. 3rd i woke up cramping and spotting so we rushed to the nearest ER they took my blood and waited for almost 2 hours by then i was bleeding quite a bit and was certain it was a miscarriage when the doc finally came in he said that he was pretty certain it was a miscarriage considering i was supposed to have been about 5 weeks and my HCG quant was only 15, he sent me home with pain meds and told me to come back in 2 days to repeat my quant.

Dec 5th- hcg= 19..only went up 4
Dec 8th-  still a 19..told me to come back in a week
Dec 15th- 31..
They called me thursday dec 18th and told me to get there asap as they wanted to do another quant this time the hcg was 41. So she explained to me that this was either a new pregnancy or was ectopic and she did a trans vag. u/s . she said she couldnt see anything in the uterus but that the levels have to be about 1200 before you see anything. but she also said my tubes and ovaries everything else looked good. She insisted that i have the methotrexate (or however you spell it) shot. i refused being that there was no proof and if it was a new pregnancy  maybe that explained the low levels. she said that it was not a healthy pregnancy at all even though she had just told me that it could be a new pregnancy she told me to come back in 2 days to repeat bloodwork and i left there upset.

Later on after getting home i was cramping just a little and decided to go to a diff ER mainly just to get some answers. well i get there first thing they do my  bloodwork and the hcg was 62 and it was only 4 hours since the last test!!   They did an abdominal u/s and saw nothing in the uterus yet but also nothing in the tubes or ovaries.So the doctor came in and said it was definently not the same pregnancy and he didnt know if it was healthy or not b/c its so soon but that he didnt think it was ectopic. so i go back today the 20th for more bloodwork and monday the 22nd for more bloodwork a trans vag u/s and to see an obgyn... do you think there is any hope??? i mean is it good that the levels rose 21 points in only 4 hours? and how possible would it be to get pregnant in that time from the 3rd until now..i havent had a period..just the bleeding from the miscarriage...

thanks in advance for any advice or input..im fairly young and this is my first pregnancy well except for the miscarriage so its all new to me. i dont know how im going to make it through the weekend not knowing for sure... well thanks again for listening and sorry its sooo long!

well just wanted to update

turns out it was an ectopic pregnancy in my left tube and i was givin methotrexate on the 24th and it has made me feel awful.. this has all been so devastating and so long and dragged out.. im hurt with the outcome but somewhat relieved to actually have some answers...just wanted to update and thanks for the support!!

Like Erica said it's really hard to tell so early. I think you made the right decision on not doing the shot, b/c if it is a new pregnancy it would have killed the baby. I really hope that it works out and you get to celebrate instead of having to worry :D Keep us updated.

First of all, I am so sorry you have had to go through this.Although, if your HCG levels are going up it sounds like this could very well be a new pregnancy. It sounds like you're just very early right now. They're right, you won't see anything yet, but hopefully your HCG levels will keep rising. No one but a dr. can say for sure what's going on, unfortunately, you're just going to have to wait it out until you get more bloodwork done. I know it's not easy, but try and relax :) Let me know how it goes. :) I'm here if you ever need to talk :)
