ive posted this a few times, but while your doing your charting here is more info about CM. I had been charting this all along the first time i was TTC but as you may have read on some posts ive made im lacking in abundance with this (CM) so am going to try what Bam is doing and take EPO.... in fact im going to go get some right now. I dont mind having wet panties if it can tell me that im fertile.. lol.. sorry TMI... hehe

ok, what to look for in cervical mucus over your cycle is as follows....

    Pre-Ovulation

Following the menstrual period, there is a feeling of dryness. There will be no visible mucus. Gradually, more mucus will accumulate - yellow, cloudy, or white in color and sticky to the touch.

    Approaching Ovulation

As you approach ovulation, your cervical mucus will increase. First, there will be a moistness or stickiness to the mucus, as well as a white or cream-colored appearance.

    During Ovulation

At ovulation, the quantity of mucus will increase greatly and the appearance will resemble "egg whites", often semitransparent. The texture will become increasingly slippery and 'stretchable'. This is your most fertile time.

    Following Ovulation

Following ovulation, the slippery quality of the cervical mucus will decrease and the mucus will become sticky and cloudier. Post-ovulatory dryness will also ensue.

it may take a few cycles to get back to what it was or it may stay longer.
ok this is what i figured myself and using tools on line. I would send you a link but every time i post a website i get in trouble and they threaten to freeze my account. .. even though no one else does.
anyways, if you started your last AF on 9/29 and this one started on 10/29 i work that out to be 30DC. you count from the first day of your last AF (being9/29) to the day before your next AF (being yesterday10/28, today 10/29 is the start of your new cycle).
your most fertile time is between 11/11 and 11/16. either 11/14 or 11/15 being actual ovulation day. remember that sperm can live in you for a few days! and an egg is fertile for up to 24 hours after it is released.
this is going by a 30DC with 14 day luteal phase. this month you may be shorter again. its hard to tell because you haven't had very many cycles since M/C.
knowing when you should ovulate makes OPK more affective also.
if you have any more questions let me know.

I agree with what Nunu said.  I just started reading the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  I haven't gotten far, but it does confim what was already my understanding.

There are 3 ways to know if and when you O.  The first being an OPK.  The book suggests buying 2 kits for the first month, so you can test as soon as CD7 and not scrimp on the sticks.  There is reason to believe that they are not always 100% accurate, but I haven't gotten to that chapter yet.  The second is BBT.  Charting your Basal Body Temp every morning.  Personally I found it to be a pain in the a**, but if I don't get pg this month, I'm going to try it again.  You plot your temps on a graph and will eventually know if you O'd or not (by a temp spike).  The problem with this method, is that it only detects afterwards (when it's too late to BD).  But at least you will know if you are O'ing and can be better prepared to BD next month (although the book says you can O on a different day every cycle).  The last method is checking your CM.  This is the one I'm least familliar with, but according to the book is the most reliable.  I know other ladies here know alot more about CM then I do, so I'm sure then can help.

Are you using the Ovulation Tracker on this website or any other?  It's a great way to see what your cycles are doing.

One last thing, are you sure you want to know all of this stuff?  Once it gets in your head, BD will never be the same (at least it hasn't been for me).  I don't know how long you have been TTC, but if you don't have a history of problems, then I would suggest just doing it the "old fashioned" way for a while.  Trust me, I wish I had my life back to the way it was before TTC.

what had your cycle usually been in the past? I would go aprox 14 days before your next AF due date. if you are regular  31 days normally that should be easy to work out. otherwise I would go for the OPK. I have only used it one time but if I do use one again I will go for one that has more then 7 sticks. this way Ill be able to test more days to make sure I don't miss "O".
I dont think I ovulate the 14 days before thats why when i do get AF for the first time for sure im going to OPK to make sure.
