Update. : (
Sadly 5 days after my initial scan the pregnancy ended. The heart stopped beating and the inner bleed persisted. I'm scheduled for a D&C on monday.
I'm so sad. They will run tests on the fetus due to the fact that it's two in a row now.
It's life i suppose. Everything will work out in due time. Thankyou both for your words xo.
Dear AP. Thankyou so much for sharing your story with me. I deeply admire your strength and resilience during such an obviously difficult time. I'm so happy that despite your struggle you are now able to hold your child in your arms. I can completely relate to the stress and anxiety you felt, it's so frustrating when you feel as though the situation is not entirely in your hands...in your control. I've been in bed now for the last two days. I'm going to try to do everything in my power to relax my body. I'm keeping the faith...but i'm also prepared in the event that all is not well. I'll let you know what happens after my next ultrasound this friday! xoxxoxox
Dear Daisy. Yes...it was pretty quick! I think i conceived about two weeks after i miscarried! I miscarried around the 22nd of feb. Around the 17th of March i got a faint positive on a home pregnancy test. The FP got darker with new tests over subsequent days. At first i wasn't sure if it was the product of the old pregnancy! So i went to have blood taken and had my HCG monitored over the course of a week and sure enough the numbers were going up.
After my miscarriage i continued eating well, taking prenatal vitamins...and also i resumed taking vitex (a herbal supplement which i was on before i got pregnant to regulate my period, but it also boosts your fertility). Because i had a miscarriage the previous month as soon as i found out i was pregnant again i began taking progesterone suppositories- 200 mg once a day.
I think you'll get pregnant when your body is ready. My miscarriage was very early- 5 weeks or so- i whipped back into shape quickly! Hopefully this will bet the same for you as well. Also, i felt as though i was ovulating around 10 days later because my cervical mucus began to change- it became very clear 'fertile mucus'- so that's when i knew that it was the right time! and it worked!! So, yes if your ttc after a miscarriage it can happen as soon as...well straight away! If you're ready- physically and emotionally.
Let me know how you go!!!! xoxo
First and foremost I am sorry for your loss, but on the same token CONGRATULATIONS on your new pregnancy. I recently had a natural miscarriage on 3.26.10 at 7 wks. I waited for the bleeding to stop before I started TTC. I am continuing to take my prenatal vitamins and I also went ahead and bought a Basal Body Temperature thermometer to monitor my ovulation window. Your post actually gave me hope for TTC quickly after a miscarriage. I am a week shy of marking a month since I miscarried and I still have not got my period. Did you do anything different to boost your chances of conceiving? How long was the gap between your miscarriage and current pregnancy? I want to conceive ASAP and any help you could provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks =)!
Daisy
I'm so sorry you are going through this. I too had a subchroniac bleeding/hematoma mine began at about 12 wks and I had heavy bleeding and clotting for a few mos and was on bed rest for a while. I had to switch over to a high risk dr to be monitored closely. My bleed began forming a clott and for a while it was beginning to out grow the baby. it was a nightmare. A total rollercoaster ride. I was told every other day pretty much that the dr's didn't know if the baby would survive or it the bleed would eventually dissolve or if the bleed was hiding and would throw me into early labor as my pg progressed. I had to go to therapy and be put on a low dose sedative due to the anxiety I was experiencing. Please listen to your dr if they tell you to stay in bed the remainder of your pg do it. I listened to everything my dr told me to do including progesterone suppositories 2xs a day. I made it full term I was quite relieved and my guy is almost 9mos old. I don't like to give out false hope but from my own personal experiences w being pg and having had so many losses not everytime you bleed during a pg doesn't mean a m/c will follow. Our bodies are so vascular during pg anything could have triggered it! Take care and best wishes to you and your baby. Get lots of rest and stay well hydrated! If you need to talk I'm here! Please keep me updated when you have your u/s!
Hugs,
AP
