bleeding/ spotting after miscarriage??

i had a miscarriage on the 10th of sept and my bleeding remained normal for 5 days. (thru 15th sept). but today sept 20 i noticed that i was spottin after using the restroom. is it my period?? how long should i have my next period after a miscarriage?? is this normal?
i found out that the baby had no heartbeat at 17 weeks, but was told from the size of the fetus it must of happened at 13-14 weeks. does this make any difference for how far along i was pregnant??

i was 9 weeks when i m/c i did bleed for about 3 weeks on and off but i had retained products but they decided not to do a d&c and let it happen naturally, i had my first period at 5 weeks after m/c i was told to expect a heavy one but it was so light it worried me too but i never sought medical advice. have you had a scan to see if it has all come away, thats the reason i bleed for so long that and the fact my hormones weren't dropping quick enough.
i wish you well

I  had a miscarriage at 14 weeks with my daughter's twin and I bleed non stop for 2 weeks. I just miscarried a few months ago, I was about 4 weeks and bleed for 2 weeks as well and right now I'm 6 weeks and 3 days and started bleeding a week ago clotting and bleeding on and off. My results are pending to see if my pregnancy is going forward or not. So to answer your question yes especially how far along in your pregnancy you were. I would call your ob he may in fact want to do a d and c if the bleeding persists and he will want to test your hemoglobin to make sure you are not losing too much blood. I would definately have them do an ultrasound to make sure you expelled your baby completely if not you could get an infection! Sorry if I scared you it's alot of info and very very overwhelming! I'm so sorry for your loss really. It's very painful both emotionally and physically. If you need anything let me know. I'm here if you need to talk. Let me know how you make out and good luck to you. Best wishes to you and I wish you good health as well......
