dr said one thing ultra sound tech says somthing different

went to dr today i measure 10 weeks pregnant pregnancy test is positive went to ultra sound later in the same day and the tech said fetal demise at 6 weeks how is that possible that all the symptoms are still there and im measuring were i should be i just dont wont to believe this how is it possible for me to still be pregnant and measuring were i should when the fetas supposedly passed  4 weeks ago has  any one had this happen i dont know what to think

I'm so sorry. That is EXACTLY what happened to me. I had an US at 6 weeks with a heartbeat and things looked good. Then at my 10 week appt. during the physical exam they said my uterus felt about 10 weeks, which was right on, and I still had all the pregnancy symptoms. They couldn't find a HB with the Doppler so they did an US and found the baby had passed at around 7 weeks. I was shocked. I had no idea anything was wrong. My body just didn't get the message. I know it's hard to accept, but an US is very accurate. I was so shocked and devastated. I had a D&C a week later, I never had a miscarriage on my own. I'm sure I would have at some point but I couldn't keep waiting, it was too hard. When did you find out you were pregnant? What was measuring 10 weeks?  The sac or the fetus.. No heartbeat at 10 weeks is not a good sign...  If the sac is measuring 10 weeks then its normal for a sac to keep going a bit after fetal demise..  I havent heard of fetus continuing to grow though..

I am so sorry for what you're going through!  there is nothing more awful than getting a negative u/s report .. I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks .. the baby was measuring 10 weeks .. my levels were still very high as the placenta was still working (it measured nearly 12 weeks) so as it was producing hormones, it was tricking my body into thinking it was still pregnant .. such a devastating thing to happen so I can understand the feelings you are going through

It might be best to leave it a week and go back for another u/s, that way you have time to adjust to the thought and then if there is no growth, you will be able to understand it better
