Ovulation after Miscarriage

Hi People,

I skipped my periods in oct and got to know i got pregnant but not a good one since the sac was too small, and in my 8th week the doc had confirmed that i would have a missed abortion and in 18 Dec 08 i had my missed abortion.
My all tests before abortion are all normal and the test taken after my abortion are all normal(FSH, LH, Insulin test)
On my 2nd day of my period(thats 21 Jan 09) i had gone to the Doc she informed me everything is normal. And on the 12th day i went for my examination she confirmed that the size of the egg is small its 1.3 cms. I wanted to know what is the correct size of a healthy egg. Does missed abortion have anything to do with ovulation... because they ask you to take a 3mnths break for the next time to concieve. I am already 29yrs and i want to concieve as fast as possible...
Please help in answering this query.

I'm sorry for your loss. A missed abortion is a medical term for a miscarriage which is expected to happen. Yes it can affect your cycle and can put a hold on oyulation. There are many reasons why your dr tells you to wait 3 cycles. It is mental and emotional to as well as physical. If you dr told you to wait it is good to follow their directions however as long as you are not doing your body any harm it's a personal choice. Have you talked to your dr about your concerns. I had a full u/s work up and blood work after my 5 th m/c. I have had 6 total. Just know that sometimes there is no reason we m/c other than the baby has chromosomal defects.  Sometimes we can do everything right and be completely healthy and still lose our pgs.You are young and time is on your side. I know it's easier said than done. It's not easy. I would def talk with you dr again and see what they say and what your options are. Let me know what happens,
AP

Yes, they may be able to help you out in the fertility forum, but I'm just going to throw this out there for you to ask your dr about.

I have recently started taking Clomid.  I do O on my own, but the thought process is to create bigger, better quality eggs.  So don't get discouraged, you have plenty of options.

I believe 1.3 cm would be 13 mm, so a little bit smaller than yours Bam.
They ask you to wait to be sure your uterus is recovered from the trauma and that your hormones are able to function properly to sustain a new pregnancy.
You went through all the tests so I assume this wasn't your first loss?  I am sorry you are going through this.  I don't know what a good size for an egg would be, but if Bam says 19mm is good then 19 mm is good.  There is also a fertility forum, where there are a lot of women undergoing different treatments, if you'd like you could query them also...they might have some good advice.  I am sorry for your loss, and I wish you good luck!

Hi darshi,  your m/c sounds very similar to mine. I also had my sac measure too small and m/c at 8 weeks.  I just recently went through all the rounds of testing and all of mine have come back normal as well.  When I went to the RE, to begin infertility testing, it was just a few days prior to me O'ing.  When she did a u/s she told me she saw a follicle and it was measuring 19mm.  Which I have read is a good size to be (sorry I can't do the measurement conversions).

In my case, the m/c did not effect my ovulation at all.  It's a very personal decision whether to decide to wait or not.  My dr told me 1-2 cycles and I waited until after my first AF, some dr's say longer, some say shorter.
