8weeks a sac but no baby

I had my first ultrasound on April 5th & my doc saw the yolk sac and said this was a healthy pregnancy,  now I go to the doctors today which is my 8week visit and he sees a sac but no baby. Now I'm unsure of when my last menstrual cycle was so I can be wrong about how far along I am. But my doc said as big as my sac is he would be able to see a baby and a heart beat, and nothing is there.I'm going to a different doc tomorrow for a second opinion. I keep seeing this happens alot and women end up with a healthy baby. I new to know I I have hope or if I setting myself up for more heart ache

I've same situation , but i'm sorry have to say i was misscarage. I know it's hard to accept it. I was pregnance 3 months ago , my first u/s at 9 weeks, they saw the sac but no baby inside.I came back to see the doctor, and she said i was misscarage, and i have to have DC or take the pills. I was so upset, cause i don't have any signs of misscarage. I made a decision to see another doctor. This time my doctor sent me to have another u/s...the same thing, i can't see my baby. And i stil have no bleeding, or crampings at all. My doctor keep sending me to u/s. And this time they found the sac is smaller than last 2 weeks. I came back to see my doctor, and she gave me misoprotol to pust everything out. I've had bleeding about 10 days, and came back for pelvis check last week.My uterus was empty, everything was pass. My period just come back normal today. You should wait and see what happened? I hope evrything will be fine to u.

You are right there is always a chance, especially if you are 6 weeks and not 8 weeks. If you went in on the 5th of April and they were able to see a sac then you were probably at least 3 weeks (but don't quote me I am not a Dr. just personal experience) and since then there has been 4 weeks. Your Dr. is going to want to monitor your through U/S because within a few weeks you are going to need to see a heartbeat or fetal pole to know you are growing a baby. I am currently 8 weeks and a couple of days growing a sac but no HB or anything else. It is a really crappy situation, but it happens. I am waiting for a M/C if I don't get one soon I will get a D&C. I have been going through this for 4 weeks and am now able to accept that this is what is going to happen and am ready to get it over with and move on!
But I have been monitoring it closely with my Dr. weekly just to make sure! Good luck and I hope you have better luck then me!!
