morning sickness and miscarriages

by Dani711, Aug 22, 2008 10:41AM
This is kind of an odd question, but i had to go to specialist with my pregnancy.  The dr had asked me questions about my morning sickness.  She said in her experience morning sickness was a really good sign.  I was not really sick with my baby which obviously did not make it.  I know that many people without morning sickness have healthy babies, but what about all of us having troubles.  I guess i am asking this because I am still ttc again...not happening as fast as I hoped.  But was wondering if there is any truth to it.  i guess the rising hormones with a healthy pregnancy would contribute to being sicker.  i guess i am trying to find any signs of a healthy baby from the begining to try to aleviate some of the concerns.  Well, wish me luck in ttc.  really thought it would happen by now!!
good luck to all of you wonderful women!

First...good luck to you in your TTC journey!!

Not everyone have morning sickness but still go to have a healthy pregnancy, you can also have a missed m/c and still the hormones will make you have some morning sickness or other signs even if it is not a healthy pregnancy.....

I believe I saw a progam on Discovery Health, and they were discussing morning sickness and m/c's.... in the end I belive it was said there is no concrete correlation between m/c and morning sickness one way or the other. I am sure there having been stuides suggesting morning sickness correlates with a succesful pregnancy and visa versa, though there have not been enough stuides with consistent results to say one way or the other. Personally I was extremely sick every day until I m/c at 12 weeks and it continued for a couple weeks afterwards.

Best of luck to you!! :)

I was one of those people who didn't have morning sickness, I can count on one hand how many times I got sick when I was pregnant with my son.  When I did get sick, I had no nausea, it was because I waited too long to eat and then when I did it would just come right back up- still without nausea.  My son is now almost six years old.  I hope this helps so that when you do get that positive pregnancy test you won't worry so much if you don't have the morning sickness.  Good luck!

I have 2 beautiful healthy children.  I was sick from the moment I got pregnant unitl the very last day, every day w/ both my children.  I recently was pregnant again & was sick, the next morning I wasn't sick & I knew there was something wrong, I made peace w/ it & went to the dr only to find out I was having a m/c.  Basically what I am trying to say, is every woman & every pregnancy is different.  All the luck in the world to you!

some women get it and some don;t.  i had 2 MC's and with my first no morning sickness but with my second, WOW was i sick.

now i am finally 14 weeks pregnant almost, and had off and on morning sickness.  some days were horrible and others o did not throw up at all, so it appears as though morning sickness is not always a sign of a healthy or unhealthy pregnancy.

i hope you have great luck TTC this time.  did the doctor check your progesterone levels and all the other things?
