please help! could i be having a miscarriage

i am a little scared.... early last year i had a misscarriage at 7 weeks.i had not been for d&c assuming everything would come out naturally, and it did (again assuming) as i bled and had severe cramping.
i am now 5 months pregnant again and have no issues such as spotting or cramping.
this mornng when i went to pee, something came out of me, it looked like old amniotic sac.it was about 5cm,very brown in color (similar to that of old piece of chewed meat) it had what looked like sinew on it aswell.it wasnt sore when i passed it, and i havent bled or had any cramping.

i was wondering if perhaps it could have been from an old menstral cycle, or old gestational sac or an old piece of uterus or something...
im worried that perhaps it could mean that i am about to have a miscarriage.

please could anyone tel me if theyve had similar expiriences, should i be worried???

a vanishing twin is when your pregnant with twins and one dies, it usually happens very early on, I had that happen to me I was pregnant, started bleeding and thought I was miscarrying, went for a scan and it showed one normal sack and one wonky sack to the side, so thats the one I was miscarrying...

Hi there.  You probably should go into be seen.  It is highly unlikely this was an old amniotic sac.  If you had retained tissue from an old loss, then your hcg levels would not have dropped allowing you to ovulate.  Also, you would have probably had heavy bleeding that would have continued until a d&c was done, or the tissue had passed completely.

This also does not sound like a miscarriage from your current pregnancy as you would not have passed a sac without bleeding and cramping.

I'm honestly not sure what it could have been, but you should probably talk to a Dr. just to be safe.  It does sound like your current pregnancy is fine, and happily, at 5 months you are well past the danger zone of first trimester.  I wish you a healthy and happy remainder.  All the best!!

thank you scout8601.
i was really worried,im not on medical aid so i dnt have a prvate doctor who i can call, just a government clinic.

i knew i shouldnt streess about it because ive had a miscarriage and this was nothing like that.
i still havent had any spotting or cramping and the baby is still having karate classes in my stomach so im taking it as a great sign.

thank you

I would call and ask the nurse, but if you're not having any bleeding or cramping then i'd think it was old and wouldn't affect the pregnancy.  But I have never had anything like that or even heard of it, so I'm just not sure. Good luck and congratulations on this pregnancy.
