what is going on????

So here it goes...I went in for a routine ultrasound on Februaury 9 (i was suppose to be 12 weeks 2 days along) that my baby had no heartbeat and had stopped developing at 11 weeks 2 days. I opted to induce labor and deliver my baby at home. Unfortunantly after he was born i started to hemmorage and had to go to the ER for an emergency D&C. Right after that i had pretty much no more bleeding, just really light spotting for about 4 days.

Now seeing as we have unexplained infertility and this pregancy was a result from our 2nd attempt at IVF we have never used protection or BC.

Now 5 weeks later I have had cramps in the front and in my lower back, absolutley exhausted ALL the time, sore boobs. So i thought for sure AF was on her miserable way. Now I will apoligize in advance for TMI but yesterday morning when i wiped it was pink and I thought or sure she was here, but by 2:00 in the after noon there was no more spotting. So when I got up this morning I was totally expecting the gush but again...just pink and now it is back to brown. Nothing in the liner just when I wipe. I am so confussed.

I called the med help line here and they had no suggestions, just that they can't say for sure. Has anyone ever had this happed and what was the outcome? I don't like that my body is playing tricks on me. But you know murphys law...Now that I have posted tis question she will come in full force...Even though this has NEVER happened before in my 22 years of the witch...Anyone???

Hi hon, still spotting on and off but it's bright red so think it may be AF but just very light.  I did a test this morning and still BFN.  Head's all over the place!  Yes I'd love to hear how you're getting on and hopefully we will both be a little more in the know in the middle of the week.  Hugs, Helen x

gemmaj3-...I never had a scan after the D&C because they did one before to see what was there after the hemmroging(sorry if i spelled that wrong). There was only a little bit there and when the D&C was done she said she got everything. I had really no bleeding at all after, just light brownish spotting (sorry if tmi) but it is on it's 3rd day of spotting...so frustrating!!

bernie40-...Thanks so much...this is insane. It is nice to know we are not alone but I am so confused. I keeping hoping i am pregnant again as i have all the symptoms but like i said we have never had it happen naturally so i still don't think so. I just wish my body would make up it's mind. I have a doctor's appointment this wednesday and if nothing has progressed by then i will ask. I took 2 hpt's last week with the sore bbs and all but they were both bfn and not knowing what is going on with my cycle i don't kno if it was too early or not. They say after a d&c it should take 4-6 weeks to get AF again.

Have you tested at all? If it has been 8 weeks i would for sure...That is a long time. Let me know what happens if you like...I will also keep you posted!!

Hi there, did you have a scan after you d&c to make sure everything had come away that was supposed to? I just wonder with the cramps and only brown discharge that maybe there's still some old blood to come away? Or maybe you should try a pregnancy test? I had similar to what you're describing in my first pregnancy, little streak of pink, then nothing, then brown spotting and I was pregnant.......just a thought! I hope you get your bfp soon if that's what you're hoping for!

I absolutely 100% know where you're coming from on this one.  First of all I'm so sorry for your loss.  I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks, the baby had stopped growing at 7wks.  I had a D&C on the 25th Jan (almost 8 weeks ago).  I bled very little afterwards and by the following day it had stopped completely.  A week later I developed an infection and was losing horrible brown gunge (sorry tmi), that lasted a week, I then got intermittent odd discharge.  This is the 3rd weekend that I've had persistent cramps as though AF is about to arrive.  The first 2 times nothing happened.  Last week I had on and off brown spotting for a week and then on Thurs I actually saw real blood and thought that at last AF was here.  I only had the one episode on the Thurs but on Fri morning had a thick discharge that was very bloody but not like a menstrual flow but still thought that it must be my AF, this happened again but then it all stopped by midday, one more instance yesterday evening but barely anything and virtually nothing on the pad.  This morning just one small amount on tissue.  So like you I don't know if I'm having AF or not, I no longer know my own body and just feel so frustrated.  Surely after 8 weeks I should have a proper period???

Sorry not to be answering your question but wanted you to know you are not alone.  I've read so much over the last few weeks and it seems that there is no "normal" following a D&C procedure for miscarriage.  I am going to do yet another hpt test tomorrow and if that shows negative again then I shall be hoping my doctor can shed some light when I see her Tuesday.
