when do I start counting from?

There are lots of questions about ovulation after a miscarriage, and many women have written to say that they became pregnant 2 weeks after a miscarriage.  What is very confusing is whether they are counting 2 weeks from the start or the end of bleeding.  I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks which started on the 22nd April and ended on the 3rd May.  I had a lot of cm straight after ( like ewcm, but more of a yellow coulour- I'm really sorry! ) so I decided to use opks especially as the sonographer had told me at a scan on the 7th May that I had had a complete miscarriage, and that I had a follicle maturing in my left ovary.  Several days and several negative opks later, my cm seems to be muh less and the correct clear colour.  Did I miss ovulation?  Can someone enlighten me on any of my quieries?  Thanks!

Yes Sorry I may have misread Yours, I apologise.
I had the miscarriage end on the 8th not my af.
But I have had my af since yes I had it end only a few days go it came for four days and went

I miscarried around the 8th of last month, it finished on that date. I had it start and continue for awhile but it ended around the 8th.

I Miscarried just over a month ago and counting from the day it stopped It was a month from when all the bleeding had stopped and the spotting.

as strange as it sounds it held true for me.....counting from the first day i started bleeding with my miscarriage yesterday was my 28th day...AF came this morning...so seems i am right on track...now I can count 14 days and hopefully get my BFP......good luck to you

Thanks!  Your reply made me feel most hopeful, as maybe I haven't missed ov.  Your suggestion to bd every 2nd or 3rd day is also a good plan which I intend to follow.  I hope your cramping has stopped and good luck!

Thanks for your reply.  I have heard other women say that their dr./mw told them to count the first day of a miscarriage like that of your period, but that seems so strange.  Surely your body doesn't snap back THAT quickly! I actually bled for 12 days and I normally ov on day 12 or 13, so it just doesn't seem possible.  I suppose I'll find out soon whether I did ov or if that is yet to come!  Good luck with your bfp.

I miscarried on April 13th.  I remember around the 25th, 26th April I had a bit of cm and thought I was ovulating but I don't think I was.  On the 2nd May I am pretty sure I was ovulating then.  I had quite a lot of stretchy mucas, tingly breasts, I had cramping and I was into my husband.  I based my calculations on around the time I ovulated and counted backwards to about the 17th, 18th.  I think everyone is different but if you want to make sure you don't miss ovulation just have sex every second or third day.  It's fun and there is no harm in it.  I have still have cramping since a few days before the 2nd May and it is driving me nuts.

hi im no expert....but I miscarried at 6 weeks and 4 days April 13......I have read that you use the first day you started bleeding to track your dates....so you would use it like a normal lmp...so I bled from April 13th till April 18th Im hoping this is right because my husband and I want to have a baby.....and according to the charts....I ovulated on the 26th of april and my 3 most fertile days were the 23rd 24th and 25th and we had sex all 3 of those days.....now assuming i have the numbers correct I am on day 28 and should have started my period today....I DID NOT all i have is sore breasts and cramps.....i dont know what is going but i took a hpt this morning that was negative...so i will wait a few more days and see what happens....

I also had a m/c and used an OPK hoping to ovulate quickly. I truly am unsure about when you ovulate after a m/c. My AF came exactly 1 month to the day of my D&C and ovulation continued normally after that. It really is best for you to wait to have atleast one cycle so your body can heal. I waited only one cycle and just had another m/c. Now I am waiting atleast 2 cycles like most physicians would recommend. I think that some women ovulate in the 2 weeks after m/c and some don't.

I am not sure quite what You are asking but it is possible to become pregnant after a miscarriage before Your period which happens for most people a month after the actual miscarriage.
