Not a Good Day...Need Your Support

Today has been so scary.  I woke up more numb in my arms and legs than I have been in awhile.  I pushed through it and got to class, but my whole body feel extremely sore.  My professor knows already that I'm having problems, so when I went in I basically told him...bad day, pain, etc.  He was understanding.

I started to feel so not well that I started having a panic attack.  I had to leave class and ended up having to take one of my emergency panic attack pills.  My boyfriend stayed on the phone with me while I was freaking out, and then the meds kicked in and I pretty much passed out.

I just woke up about an hour ago, and my anxiety is pretty much gone but I feel TERRIBLE.  My arms and legs hurt, my chest is heavy, my back hurts, and my stomach hurts.  I feel so disoriented and don't remember this morning at all really.  What is going on?

Thank you so much for all of your advice and support.  The appointment with my PCP went REALLY well.  She was SO understanding of everything that was going on and told me that I was completely right to request a referral for the MS specialist because a lot of what I'm experience is exactly how MS presents in young females.  She told me there's not a lot she can do about the pain, but that I can try Aleve and stuff and just hang in there until my neuro appointment.

She did an in office EKG since I was having chest pain because I have high cholesterol and she wanted to make sure my heart was good...it was.  She also checked a lot of my vitamin levels (B12 is one she listed off that I remember), and also ran another thyroid test because it runs in my family and we hadn't checked it for awhile.  We'll see how those results turn out.  Lastly, she had me get a chest xray because she said she thinks I may have walking pneumonia.

All in all it was a good appointment.  It made me feel way less stressed, way less neurotic, and I may actually have something wrong with me that can be fixed for once!

Sometimes just taking some action and doing something positive can help anxiety. It helps to hear it from other people that is is Ok to ask for help.  You are not imagining what is going on in your body and definitely a good thing to get this checked with your PCP so well done for making that call. Come back if you are feeling up to it and let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

I agree with Michelle.  In my opinion, this warrants a trip to the ER. The unexplained pain and worry are reasons enough and it will serve to document the event.

I hope you feel better. Let us know what your PCP or the ER says.

I am so sorry you are feeling so unwell.  If this continues I would go to the ER to get checked out.  Actually I might go now, if you have someone to drive you.

I have no idea what is going on, but particularly if you are scared, I would indeed go or at least call your PCP.

Let us know how you are doing,
Michelle
