Eye Issues

Good Morning All,
Been a rough couple of days.  I woke up yesterday morning with extreme sensitivity with my eyes (happen periodically) light mostly but heat makes it worse.  I have put ice on my eye and it helps for a time.  Once I remove the the ice pack and it gets warm again it starts all over.  It usually only lasts a couple of hours.  This time is has been almost 2 days.

This time it has made me nauseated and my balance is worse. My right eye gets swelled and has a lot of pressure behind it.  This is the eye I had the Optic Neuritis in.  The eye is not red in anyway and I do not get any kind of crusty stuff in it either.

Is this something I should see the Eye Doctor about?  Should I let my Neuro know about this also?
In the past it has gone away on its own.  So I am not sure I need to see any of the doctors.
What do you all think?

Leanne

Thank you Barb,

I did go and see the eye doctor, he is not a specialist but he knows alot about MS and is very quick to involve my Neuro when he is not sure.  He sent all the test results to my neuro yesterday because he is just not sure what is going on.  Things are a little better today but not back to normal yet.  The new contacts don't seem to make any difference so pretty sure that is not the problem.

I am very lucky that all my doctors seem to know each other and have mutual respect for one another.  They are working well to keep me healthy.

Yes my eyes have been my biggest issue to date.  It is getting really annoying.  But I just keep going.  I did go see my eye doctor yesterday.  I had an appointment to get my new glasses ordered and when I called to confirm my appointment I mentioned the symptoms I was having.

Well that ended up with an appointment with my doc.

He ran tests and checked my vision.  Which has changed and the right eye is blurrier then it has been.  He put me in different contacts (but does not think that is the problem) so he sent all the test results to my neuro for review.

I will not be surprised if I hear from my neuro today.

Kinda of hoping not though, he will want to put me on IV treatments and not sure I want to do that.  Time will tell.

Thanks Corrie!

Hi Leanne,
Sorry you are having trouble with your eye. I think you should call your Neuro.usually the Neuro wants to see you if your symptoms have been occurring for 24 hours.
Maybe the Neuro will want you to see a neuro ophthalmologist. I don't know if an optometrist is trained enough to treat or recognize a neuro issue with your eye.
I hope you get some relief soon. Eye pain is horrible.
HUGS, barb

Dang girl, those eyes are giving you a lot of grief. I would definitely let your neuro know and if you don't have an ophthalmologist then an optometrist is a good place to start.

I think it's gone on long enough to have someone look at it.

Good luck!
