How is Sadie?

by Rena705, Apr 14, 2008 03:41PM
Craig and Elaine...just wondering how Sadie is doing after her LONG STONEY weekend?  tee hee  Bet you are about ready to ring her neck now that the fear is over with? ha ha  I don't blame you!  Maybe you can get her a part time job to pay the vet bills?  Wouldn't that be something eh?  I had to pay for my rotten little bugger after she got drunk on Kahlua and she didn't even have a hangover!

I sure hope Sadie is doing well though and we are looking forward to hearing that she is home safe and sound!

Lots of Hugs,

Rena

Thanks for asking about Sadie Rena.  She is doing well.  She has some bleeding (drops) from her sutures but the vet said it will subside in a day or so.,  She is on five different medications for pain, inflammation. and to prevent an infection.  And special food that is easily digestible.

She can't do steps and we must take her out to go to the bathroom on a leash.  My kids are afraid to be alone with her (she did take a nap on my daughter's lap) and I am the "nurse" for Sadie.

But she was so happy to see me when I picked her up and looked so relieved to be home.  She goes back to the vet in  10 days for suture removal.    We're really glad she is home.  However, I do like that idea of finding her a part time job.   With all the meds it ended up being 2,300 dollars.

Thanks again Rena for asking.  It was a long weekend and long day today!!

I'm really glad to hear your dog is doing well, too.  I had an aussie that had a belly full of rocks once, but we did not need surgery.  (They were small and passed on through.)  I love, love, love my dogs.  I know how you feel.  God bless, Amy

So glad Saidie is home and doing okay. I'm sure your kids are transferring their fears about Craig on to the fear of losing Sadie. I'm sure you know that getting them to express their fears is important..not telling you anything you don't already know, LOL! Just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you............At least on a leash you can control the rock for a snack issue!......Maggie
