will I still have withdraws / anyone

Hi everyone,  I was just wondering something.  My breakthrough pain meds are not doing a very good job lately and I suggested to my doc. that I had probably been on them to long and needed to switch for a while.  So he took me off of the oxycodone and called in darvocet.

The darvocet did help but just 2 days later I'm feeling tired, achey, moody, and kinda anxious.  I never thought about it but even though I replaced the oxy. with something else could I have withdraws?  What should I do?  I still have some of the oxycodone left, should I start taking it again?  My pain is about a 4 maybe 5.

Thanks,
Carol

I'm so glad to here from you.  Are you feeling better?  We have really missed you and we tried to help as much as possible.

I get my meds through my regular doctor.  I feel more like it's the flu symptoms but not really, I know that sounds dumb.  That would'nt be the darvocet would it?

I have taken darvocet in the past and it did'nt bother me.  I switched to oxycodone because the darvocet was'nt helping me.  I just thought switching them back and forth every month might help.  I guess not, right?

By the way I have read some of the older post and realized that I made alot of spelling mistakes.  I would like to apologize to everyone for that.  I'm still not using my right hand as good and sometimes a word just looks right to me until I read it later and realize it was'nt.  Anyone else do that.

Once again Quix, it's great to hear from you, and I'll keep on praying,
Carol

No, I don't think there is any more withdrawals for you.  My professional experience with Darvocet (none personal) is that a lot of people feel really weird on it.  It may just not be a good med for you.  What is the problem with going up on the dose of the breakthru med - oxycodone?  The pain management doc might disagree.  There are other meds, like Fentanyl, that you can try, but I would try the oxy again and maybe add in a higher dose (half a tab).  Now, I CANNOT recommend that you do that, because I can't practice medicine - here or anywhere.  Check with your doctor first of course!

You have been on the oxy before so try it again and talk to the doc in the morning.  Is this your regular doctor, a neuro or a pain doc?
