Hello,
Do those of you that have problems with heat notice it more during an exacerbation?
I have been having tremors and headaches and fatigue since early Feb., had an MRI with multiple lesions 2/22/08, and am in Limboland. I have noticed more cold intolerance, with cramping of muscles all over my body, tachycardia, etc. I don't remember heat problems, except that the last time I went to Vegas I had trouble walking the great distances that I used to relish.
My best friend decided that she was worried about me being so tired all the time, so she is sending me to Palm Springs for 8 days. She had a two bedroom timeshare booked that she couldn't use (got big promotion!) or save, and plenty of airline miles to send me down. Fluffy will stay at home with a neighbor looking in on him, feeding him, and giving him his meds. He has been waking me up at all hours of the night, which adds to my problems.
I'm a bit concerned that my fatigue will be worse down there in the heat, and possibly the tremors, too. The thought of uninterrupted sleep won me over, though. I'll pick up an air conditioned car at the airport, have a big place to read and relax in, and eight swimming pools to bob around in. If I feel up to it, I'll even check out their water exercise classes (if they still offer them; I haven't been there in years).
The big LPGA tournament at Rancho Mirage will be going on while I'm down there, but I don't know if I'll be up to walking around a golf course in the heat. I guess I could plant myself in the shade somewhere and watch the groups of golfers go by.
I'll have my doctor's phone numbers programmed into my phone just in case my body tries a new symptom, and my medical card also just in case. I thought of borrowing a laptop, but I figured that would just be too much to carry. If I miss y'all too much, they have pay-per internet usage at the resort!
What do you think? I'm kind of chicken and excited at the same time. I'm not used to travelling alone, and the tremors, headaches and occasional dizziness can be freaky. I know not to drive when I'm in a bad way, and everything I need is close down there. Hmmm...
Kathy
