curious

Several times a day it feels like someone is holding a heater up to my leg. Could this be MS?

Hi, Welcome to the forum.  With not knowing anything about you or what you are going through, this is a loaded question.

What you are describing is a paresthesia - a false message sent by a sensory nerve.

The answer is the MS can have almost any form of nerve dysfunction as a symptom, including the one you describe.  So yes, it could be MS.

But, it also could be the result of a vitamin deficiency, the result of several different infections like Lyme or some viruses, or the onset of another disease that causes parathesias.

The one explanation I would not accept is stress or anxiety.

To find out you need to start by telling your doctor about this.

I get burning in my leg too. Sometimes it's just awful. My neurologist did tell me it is from the MS. I also get burning down the entire side of my face. That's the one that really gets me and I take a pain pill and lay down. Sometimes it goes away like that, sometimes it doesn't, but at least I can forget about it for a while.

Hi,

This could indeed be one of the weird, transient symptoms of MS.

But there is no way to know without going to a doctor.
